Default Dealership + New Car = FOREVER

So I ordered a 09' tC 5 speed BSP... this was last Monday. I got a call on Wednesday and was told it would be in early "next week" meaning today or tomorrow because it needed to be trucked here from another dealership. I went in to talk to them today and was told that it hasn't even been picked up yet and they would be making shipping arrangements today, they would update me by 5:00 pm (I spoke with them at 9:30 am).... 5:15 rolls around and I called them. I was told that arrangements were made, and that they would go down to pick it up. I asked when I can expect it and where it is. He didn't know where, other than it is 310 miles away and It might be here on Friday... maybe even Monday.

Dealerships are closed here on Sundays, but why can't I get it on Saturday? And why does it take that long to drive only 620 miles? thats retarded. Drive down one day, come back the next.

Any opinions?

I bought my first car from this dealership as well and it came without the spare tire, and was missing a floor mat. Wilde Milwaukee.

they might have to wait for other cars to come down with yours and dont want to send a big truck with 1 car. meaning kill 2 birds with 1 stone (maybe 10-15 birds)? Id get a deposit back if you put one down. do a walk around to make sure nothing is wrong with the car "before" you drive off the lot and have patience young one!

Yea they wont make a trip for just one vehicle its just not economical for the dealership and they aint gonna waste money. But definitely do a full and very thorough inspection and if its supposed to be brand new it had better be brand new. So if its missing stuff dont take the care until its taken care of. GL with everything.

Yeah just hang in there I was in that spot about 5 or 6 weeks ago, I got my car stuck at port for over 60 days due to an union strike with no arrival date. The bad part was that I was moving to start my job and I had to have the car. I wasn't sure if I was even going to get my tC or not after waiting all that time because of my start date. But they got the car in 7 days before I left and now I am the proud owner of and 2009 Super White 5-Speed. I am surprised that your dealer is going 310 miles out, mine told me they wouldn't go that far for one. I starting to plan a road trip when they called me about its ETA.

Its just soo frustrating. I had 2 businesses tell me when I would have things by, and neither were prompt. I am definately going to walk around the car multiple times. Make sure that everything is perfect. I'm spending 20k, its gonna be a 20k well spent. I asked them not to drill holes in the front for the plates either, and that was a bit of a fight, since its illegal in WI... the sales rep insisted that he was required to drill them. He conceded, but hopefully I will still get my way.

****, I'd drive down there & back tomorrow to pick it up if it were that big of a deal to them.

How long does it usually take to install pedestal spoiler, upgraded pioneer system, rear bumper appliqué, mud guards, and security system?

>.< Ouch. I guess I'm just in need of a car and impatient because I was told I would get it about a week earlier (1/2 the time) than I probably will.

yeah, i was in the same boat you are in. I had the dealer telling me it was coming in day after day, and i ended up waiting about 3 1/2 weeks for my 09 Flint Mica. well worth the wait though. Although I did the test drive with the plastic still on the drivers seat which was a little awkward

Wow, getting a defective car sucks. I got mine on Thursday. It is great. The security was back stocked, so they owe me that, as well as the bumper applique looked bad (poor application), so they are replacing that. The last thing is that around the rear license plate, There is a defect in the manufacturer's paint, so they are repainting the trunk/hatch or something. Unfortunately, they drilled holes for the front bumper. I took it off, and not only did they drill them, they over screwed them so that the plastic was deformed. So when I bring the car in to have the rest of the stuff fixed, I'm going to request that they make that look better. I love my car.
