Where was your Scion during the storm? :nails: It's time to check in, now that most of us have power back!

My brother's tC in Elk Grove was saved by a freak act of organization...I cleaned the last of my stuff out of the garage Friday afternoon, and he was able to pull in Saturday night...which is a good thing, because there were 18 inches of water in the driveway. o_0

And my boyfriend and I got sunk at an IHOP in Arlington Heights when we pulled into 2' of water in the parking lot (this was my first indication that something was wrong on Saturday)...but fortunately we were driving his Lancer and not my xB. :nails: LOL, box protection instinct.

Frankly, we were all very lucky - it could have been worse. Much worse. After all, a guy drowned a mile from my apartment. In a soccer field.

Yea, I fared fine.

It did take me 40 minutes to drive 2 miles to work yesterday though.

I live a mile or so off the DesPlaines River, so there were lots of streets West of me that were closed down.

Yea... after a few of these rainstorms, I kinda want an intake with the filter in the engine bay.

I went through a couple inches of water and i made it through it... other than that.. no flood damage.. not so good for one of our members though as he got hydrolocked saturday morning... going through his insurance now, wont have his car for a bit though.

On my way home from work on saturday though, i had a bit of a scare trying to get through Golf road by Algonquin as it was flooded in.. i went slow and some dick flew by me in a truck, because you know they own the road, and he splashed water all over my car like i drove through a waterfall.. i couldn't see crap.

I driven in huge puddles when we were getting flooded back in June. I thought it was great idea to go to Scion show in Milwaukee even when the storm was going on. Didn't realize that South of Milwaukee is mostly hills and driven through a puddle that was little over foot high.

I never felt my heart hit the floor so fast when I heard the water crashing underneath the car. That's when I decided to nickname the car "SS touring Coupe." LOL "Oh my God, CAI! I'm so going to flood the engine!"

Let the car dry out that night was fine the next day.

When I cleaned the filter two months ago...There was watermarks on the rubber top. I guess that bypass actually does work? lol

kinda late in replying but my D is just fine. as for flooding and blackouts, it wasn't too bad in my area. however, my neighbor was somewhere south of chitown and hydrolocked their new sienna w/ only 5400 miles. what a shame. ha ha the driver miscalculated the depth and just drove thru water on road.

Wherabouts did that happen? I work on Golf, across from the mall, and it took me 1.5 hours to find an open east/west street. Golf was closed...Algonquin was closed...Euclid was closed...Higgins was closed...eventually, I wound my way through a subdivision that was literally flooding as I went through it. :p It was somewhere betwee Algonquin and Euclid, and water was pouring onto the road as I drove it. Yeeks!

By the time I got to the open part of Algonquin, the onramps for 53 were starting to go. I saw people driving through 2' of water, and I was like "YOU ARE INSANE."

Where did you get stuck? :)

they werent puddles that day....they were LAKES!! :nails:
