Would it have possibly been Dec issue? Munch 12-19-2004, 02:37 AM That thing must feel sweet 8) Clif 12-19-2004, 03:50 AM I'm with itzjere...I just thumbed back thru Dec and jan and couldn't find it. Can we get a page #? Hunsaker66's xA was on page 188 of the Jan 05 Super Street, but I don't think that's what you're talking about. pitboss12 12-19-2004, 04:42 AM The date on magazines are always a month ahead even more during the holidays...Think Playboy December holiday special arriving in late october. Anyway, its got a chick leaning up on a yellow Evo on the cover. Check the newstand I just got it this morning. BCSxB925 12-19-2004, 07:33 PM so what is the right month??nov., dec., or jan.??? Clif 12-19-2004, 10:55 PM Must be Feb.. xAlex 12-20-2004, 02:26 AM wow, that went nowhere fast dante_b 12-20-2004, 02:28 AM lol fugeelama 12-25-2004, 10:22 PM It's in the February issue, page 89. And I agree, the photos kid of sucked. stellarhavoc 12-27-2004, 07:01 AM Hey that car looks familiar! I saw it at HIN SanMateo earlier this year... Pretty nice! Poor baby has some scratches tho, look closely :( That car would be even more awesome if they worked on the minor-minor details. Still impressive that our xA has SOMETHING published in a magazine for once :) dante_b 12-27-2004, 07:48 PM some one post the articles..........please..... staypuft 12-27-2004, 09:06 PM The article was ok , the pics sucked imo.. i was all ready to subscribe to this mag but after picking up jan and feb issues i think the mag is more about pics of chicks.. ok this isent all bad but sorry i wanted more details and more pics of the car. just my 2cents its_ikon 12-27-2004, 10:05 PM what color is it? staypuft 12-27-2004, 11:12 PM Custom tri-stage Sunset Orange /w black roof and Cf hood and gold 17's. i dig the paint but the gold wheels dont work for me. Very cool car tho. Dante_b just run to the store read the article in the store, its short. Z34RedSox 12-30-2004, 08:09 PM did someone find it at borders or is that the wrong one Ashe_WCM 12-30-2004, 09:49 PM I like the Grill, it was pretty sweet, I Think it's Kenstyle mikochu 12-30-2004, 11:02 PM It's February '05. It's Paul Natividad's xA... two-tone orange/black... LUCKY! jdaniels 12-31-2004, 02:35 AM It's been said by friends of EL Prototypes that the article is far fetched. Don't try and flame me... it's just what has been said. I don't know how believable it is either, they haven't been able to furnish any parts I've asked for. showpaojoe 12-31-2004, 07:37 PM Well in reality they DO HAVE 215hp at the flywheel...but it ain't on no stroked block. That's the beauty of a weak ___ magazine like Import Tuner, you tell em what you got and they don't even question it. But congrats to Paul...that's the farthest anyones got with their xA fo sho...and I'm not just talkin bout the engine. dante_b 12-31-2004, 09:57 PM yeah showpajoe is right, magazines dont print the actual numbers sometimes. most of the time they go with what the car owners says. they have been none to write articles on cars that have turbo this and nos that and other spectacular stuff to create huge numbers but what ppl dont know is that its just a show car and it doesnt even work. sometimes they just install the turbo for the article and for show.\ the article was cool but the pictures could have been better LavaBox_v1 01-03-2005, 03:40 AM The kid is the Jan 05 Car of the Month on Scionlife.com ... so someone PM him and find out details from him ... or call EL Prototypes and see whats up! LavaBox_v1 01-03-2005, 03:55 AM Well in reality they DO HAVE 215hp at the flywheel...but it ain't on no stroked block. That's the beauty of a weak ___ magazine like Import Tuner, you tell em what you got and they don't even question it. But congrats to Paul...that's the farthest anyones got with their xA fo sho...and I'm not just talkin bout the engine. Here is a few quotes from the magizine: "The block was fitted with an E.L. Prototype block guard and bumped from 1.5 to 1.7 liters." "The crankshaft was micropolished and the rods were shot-peened while the engine was apart." "the help of larger 320cc fuel injectors and a Celica GT-S fuel pump, before being split out of the custom 2.5-inch E.L. Prototypes piping and the Fujitsubo exhaust system." "Controlling all of the custom modified madness is an AEM engine management system with the monitoring help of an AEM wideband monitor and a HKS injector pulse monitor. " "Held down by an A.C.T. Extreme race clutch" AND on top of all that it has a Switzer S1 ball bearing turbo!! From the sound of all this the car BETTER be making 215 to the wheels. squirrel 01-05-2005, 03:33 AM Well in reality they DO HAVE 215hp at the flywheel...but it ain't on no stroked block. I guess you just looked at the pics and didn't READ the article. dgHotLava 01-07-2005, 03:46 PM you don't stroke the block, you stroke the crank... so it could be a stroked motor, but its the crank that is stroked... |
