Docsnuff 01-18-2004, 05:23 AM I really wanted one, but since I ordered the R.S 1.0, I don't want to cut it up at all right now... I really love sunroofs, and I have a convertible right now, but I am not sure at this point, leaning toward no though... Doc tintsem 01-18-2004, 05:39 AM I'm putting mine in very soon, hopfully in the next two weeks. If it slows down for me at the shop. I'm self employeed so my stuff is always last. The dvd and headrest monitors go in this coming week. Can't wait. I'll post pics when done. I'm putting in a Hollandia spoiler roof. silverxb 01-18-2004, 08:28 AM i got one put in when i first got my car. the dealership sent it out to get it put in and added it to the total of the car. they did a really clean job. i think it was a webasto sunroof. the one that slides into the roof. HotBox 01-18-2004, 08:47 AM i wanna put one but havent yet not til a few more months after i recover from the money i put into the system then after that its the rims again then the sunroof i wanna put a big one tho like from half of the front and half of the rear seat so i can lay down in the front and just look up kwicslvr 01-18-2004, 11:45 AM I wish a sunroof was an option. That would be sweet. Munch 01-18-2004, 12:52 PM I wish a sunroof was an option. That would be sweet. Agreed  Jaywade24 01-18-2004, 01:12 PM I wish a sunroof was an option. That would be sweet. Yeah I'm getting this a lot from everyone I've been talking to too...most dealerships have a aftermarket shop that will install a sunroof, I've always been impressed with the work that the shop that my dealer works with, looks like factory...and when I went to S.E.M.A I don't think I saw a Xb without a sunroof....here's the but.....at our product launch here in on the east coast one of product engineer's told us that the reason sunroofs were not a option was a weight concern and he didn't advise installing sunroofs...that being said make sure you ask what kind of warranty comes with any aftermarket sunroof you get installed...hope this helps DeanCouchey 01-18-2004, 01:32 PM thanks jason, my dealership is sedning me to a real awesome shop, he said they will install oversized sunroofs in there sequoi's for people that want huge ones so they havent had any problems. I really wanted one, but since I ordered the R.S 1.0, I don't want to cut it up at all right now... I really love sunroofs, and I have a convertible right now, but I am not sure at this point, leaning toward no though... We are getting one to but since this is gonna be our show car/cruiser/roadtrip mobile. It will suck to get rid of our eclipse conv but I wont miss it, only thing to miss is the roof, not the car its self. Skywalker 01-19-2004, 06:35 PM I wish a sunroof was an option. That would be sweet. It is. The dealership charged me $1200 installed. It is guaranteed leak-proof and covered for life. Can't beat that deal; just haven't made my appt yet for install. Toyota will also do two in the back, but then you start to get near $4K. I just paid for the front seat sunroof. Jaywade24 01-19-2004, 10:48 PM It is. The dealership charged me $1200 installed. What they were talking about is a factory option...not aftermarket...which most dealers can do. but again if you read my post above be carefull with sunroofs fugeelama 01-19-2004, 11:14 PM [at our product launch here in on the east coast one of product engineer's told us that the reason sunroofs were not a option was a weight concern and he didn't advise installing sunroofs Stupid question: is the sunroof too heavy for the frame to support it? Or is it more of a safety issue in terms of structural stability? Jaywade24 01-20-2004, 04:06 AM At the product launch for our region, we were told it was a weight concern... toybox1 01-20-2004, 01:30 PM mine came with a sunroof ... no probs with it ether o4_USDM_bB 01-20-2004, 06:48 PM the toyota bB comes with a factory sunroof. whether or not its an option or standard, i dont know. weight is most likely not a concern. they want the scions to be "one trim level" so adding a sunroof would be way too much work. if you notice, all of our "accessories" are pretty much bolt-on. if they added a sunroof option, it'd have to be another car. SonsIceBox 01-20-2004, 07:48 PM What About T-Tops in the Xb That would be cool looking. |
