I am located in San Jose, CA and ready to get a FM Auto. I am inclined to go with Piercy Toyota because my uncle has had excellent experiences with them. Anybody else have any suggestions? I am going to go nuts waiting for the car as the wait is two months atleast. How is TFS for financing? I have a FICO of 747 but credit unions wouldn't give me a loan because my credit history is only 2.5 years old. Any other suggestions for financing?
I can get a cherry black tomorrow if I want one, but I don't like the color. If anybody is interested, drop me an email and I will let you know who has them. They have two of them available. Not sure abt the transmission though.
Thanks.

Have you used the dealer search function on the scion site? Try that and when the results come up scroll down and click on the link to expand the search.
Next check out the dealer webesites, some allow you to check their inventories. I was checking those sites on a regular basis for a while.
Also check the regional forum or dealer forum and find a dealer who has a good repuation here at scionlife. Give them a call. Good luck.

I bought my manual IIP tC from Piercey. I pre-ordered it in early June, and got the call in mid-July. This was when the car was rare, and I didn't need the car right away, so I was OK with the wait.
My salesman was Stephen Tran. He did a good job IMO. The only problem I had with him was that he didn't update me with the status of the car very often. I didn't really know when the car was coming until a couple of days before final delivery. But that's a small thing. He was pleasant to work with otherwise.
I got a loan from my credit union, so I can't comment on TFS. The finance guy I talked to didn't try to push anything on me except for an extended warranty, but even then he only asked twice and then dropped it, which in my experience is around as painless as it's going to get.
BTW, make sure they install the radio before you arrive for final delivery. tCs are delivered without a radio from the factory, with the expectation that the dealer installs it. You don't want to have to go back again just for the stock radio.
I would definitely wait for the right color. IIP was my first choice, followed by FM. I had to wait extra for the IIP, but I don't regret it. This might be an econobox in the end, but you're still throwing down real $$ on it, so why not get what you really want?
Also, I know you didn't ask about this, but I suggest that you seriously consider a manual rather than an auto for the tC. The auto seemed to work OK with the engine in the tC when I test drove it, but the 5sp really makes the car come alive. This was my first 5sp car, and I basically learned how to drive a manual on my tC. I don't know what your situation is, but if you have a choice about the matter, I think you should really think about it.
Hope this helps, and enjoy your new tC.

One more thing I forgot to add: I also went to Stevens Creek Scion, but the salesman there was pretty rude. As soon as he thought that I wasn't going to buy right then and there, he virtually ignored me. And it's not like there were lots of other customers around that he had to take care of. Things may have changed though.

Might want to try Putnam Toyota in Burlingame or Melody Toyota in San Bruno. It might be a little bit of a drive for you, but hey whatever it takes right?

Wherever you buy it from, just make sure the dealer is a nice guy.
I went to Capital Scion and the two dealers I dealt with there were dickheads. I let him know I wanted a flint mica, and he was like "flint mica? that's a girls color." and he kept trying to push me to buy floor model, which had like $5000 in options. I told him let me think about it and walked away. I came back and was like, "ok, I'm ready to order the flint mica instead and I know what I want." He tries to push me to buy the floor model again. I thank him and I leave. The guy has tatoos all over his arm. He was an a-hole along with his buddies.
I ended up at Stevens Creek and bought it there. Nice people and straight forward. No b-s. Good luck.

I placed my order for a FM tC last month (middle of Nov) at Scion 101 (Redwood City)and am still waiting for it. They said it would be about 3-4 weeks from ordering it, but now they're saying the holidays has set them back a few weeks behind schedule, so now it's looking like I won't see my car until January. Not sure if this is true for every dealership right now, or they are just being lame. I wasn't in a big rush to get the car, and so I am willing to wait for the right color and options rather than buy what someone's got on the lot. The sales guys at Scion 101 were nice, and that was part of why I chose to go with them. I had gone to Fremont Automall Scion a few times, and they were not very helpful, sales guys led me around the whole Toyota parking lot looking for a car that wasn't there. But through the whole waiting process now I do not get any status updates on my car unless I call and ask. Maybe 'cause there's nothing to tell me, other than that my car isn't here yet, but it seems a little weak that they would promise your car within a certain time, but not call you when that time has passed and still no car.

Both you guys should join the club:

i didn't have a bad experience at Steven's Creek Scion at all. in fact, one of the best things was that the sales dude let me drive the tC alone (wanted to try a 5-speed, most local dealers had none on the lots at all) and then a few weeks later we went back and he let my girlfriend and i take it out, then, we just printed out what we wanted, filled in a form, and i have had no hassle or hard sell from the sales guy... in fact, it was refreshing how little he interfered.
we'll see how long i have to wait though... already been a day...

I can def feel you on this one PMok. I ordered mine on Oct 30, salemans said one month and I'm still waiting. Called twice, (BTW he never returned my calls when he said he would) and got told "I'll call you back tomorrow"--didn't call. Then I called HIM back and he said 7-8 days, 2.5 weeeks later--no tC. I don't mind the wait but don't give me the run around.

POOR baby . That's long compared to somw people's wait on here . I've heard 3 months from some.
Ritts if you don't mind giving up checks (that you end up getting back cause they can't keep them) then I would suggest putting in at a couple of different dealers. almost 2 months later I wish I had. :x

i gotta give props to SCION of San Francisco on Van Ness. They were totally cool and continue to be very service oriented! Stephen was the salesman that helped me out.
Also, Putnam in Burlingame was very helpful in tracking down a Flint Mica for me. Eddy in Burlingame was totally helpful and kept me posted on any tCs coming to burlingame. Stephen in San Francisco found a flint mica first so i ended up purchasing one from them.
MELODY in San Bruno was a totally bad experience. before i went to SF or burlingame, i pplaced an order for a flint mica tC. The salesman told me that he would not cash the $500 check until the car came in and i agreed to buy it. But, the bastard cashed it 2 days later with no sign of a tC! nevertheless i got my deposit back, but decided not to buy from a LIAR that can possibly jack me for more money down the road.
i know its a drive, but trust me, the tC is totally worth it!!

I do not recommend these guys at all. Their service department is horrible, every time I get my car back from them I find a scratch or knick in the paint. They take forever to service the car and give you all kinds of attitude for no reason. I really wish I would have shopped around for another Scion dealership. Now I feel kinda "stuck" with them for the rest of my service plan...Oh yeah it took almost four to get my car. Okay I'm done whining :P

I have had many people come from the bay area to get their scions from me at Maita Scion in Sacramento. They all seemed really happy about the service we gave them.

oh... wait, by the way, I work there hahah sorry.
If you rather not drive down to Sacramento or San Jose (gets too hot sometimes at both citys) feel free to purchase in Foggy SF.
I guess we'd try to meet or exceed your expectations. Prices are all the same, comes down to convience, inventory, and customer service.

NEVER BUY A TOYOTA/SCION FROM HAYWARD TOYOTA!!! Unknowledgeable sellers, force you to sign, gets mad at you if you dont and says, "You wasted my time"
