Default random jerkiness/bogging and VSC + TRAC OFF lights

for the first time ever on my 04 xb with 88k i saw the trac off button and vsc lights come on at the same time. they went on and off my whole ride home yesterday randomly at first i only noticed a couple real jerky shifts

as i got closer to my house and had to make full stops etc... the box would barely move; i didnt get on it cause i wanted to take it nice and easy

now when i turn the car on these lights are on the dash and i have the same issues; how do i fix the problem?

04 xb 88K automatic only performance mod is injen short ram intake

please help

I have this problem once in a blue moon. It is so random that I cannot put my finger on it. I have replaced my fuel filters, my air filter (cleaned it and changed from stock to CAI) and tried injector cleaner. I also replaced the MAF and spark plugs too. So I covered Air, Fuel and Spark. No Idea.

I will just be driving and it feels like the car chokes for a second then is fine. Worse was when it stalled on me then didn't do it again for months.

You either have a bad maf or a bad a/f sensor.

Have someone pull the code for you and see what it is.

Just throwin this out there but have you checked your O2 sensors and your catalytic converter? If your cat is clogged, it will create a lot of back pressure and essentially leaving your engine with no where to send the exhaust. This will cause heavy bogging and also cause you to throw engine codes since your downstream O2 won't be picking up the proper Oxygen readings.

Oh and one more thing I recently learned with toyotas that have the Variable Stabilizaton Control and Traction Control options is that both of these features will be shut off as soon as your engine gets a fault. The ECU is programmed to shut them both off in order to conserve energy.

I have been having the same problem for the past few months. Everything will seem fine, then I get a little hesitation, and the lights come on.

I called a couple dealers, and one told me to check the gas cap. I have 99,000 miles on the car, I know how to put the cap back on.

Since I have been cranking the gas cap an extra turn, I have not had this problem.

Default vsc, cel trac off lights on

i ve got a 04 xb auto trans and my cel ,vsc and trac off came , i have a greddy supercharger , e manage, header , and tic muffler , aem cold air , i have 79k ,my trany started slipping in fisrt , not every time but one out of 5 times, went on the free way and in would drop out of od and back in od after about 1 second, i tried cleaning the gas cap, cleaning the cold air filter and cleaning the maf. I took it to the scion dealer a bought my box from , and at first they were scared to touch it . Four days later and all they could say is that the trany was splipping internally , and did not even check the oil pan. They wanted to sale me a used trany with 21k on it installed for 2100. I can get a new , not a reman , trany with torque converter for 1770. I picked it up and went to aamco and they told me it was the speed contol sensor, so i had it changed and pick it , 15 miles later and it started slipping in first again and the lights came back on. I took it back and they told me it was slipping internal and they wanted 2300. Mad , i took it to american transmission and they ran test and told me that it would cost me 1300 to rebuild and install the trany . I looked at what they did and they checked my ecu and speed sensor , i drove it home , and there were no lights, slipping and no od drop , please , has anyone had this problem?
