Default Addictive Audio 4 8's build

Well this is the start I wanted to show off my very impressive wood shop and a few pics of the begining of my build.

The Car

The Old Setup

My Garage........... AKA The Wood Shop

I'm making a front for the box with two pieces of plexi inserted into the boxes face. I used 1/2in plexi. More pics soon.

My 4 Addictive Audio 8's. I added the plexi glass front just to fit it up and see how it sounds. I will probably build the box again and change some stuff around but I am very impressed at how well the 8's sound and the range on the box. It has a great bass curve. I am running it about half way breaking in the subs and as of right now its kicking ___. Here are some pics.

Holy cow! Very cool. I want to hear it! Im very curious how it sounds. Do you plan to paint or carpet it?
I didnt know you have to break in subs... maybe thats why my wife blew a 10" type R in 3 months. Whats powering the 8s?

Anyway,,, cool original box. Nice looking car, what are those 19s?

Well scince my zapco 1100.1 isn't doing what I want it to do and keeps over heating when I play for over 30min I will be pulling it and running 2 addictive audio 50.1 strapped to 2ohm. I will still keep my other zapco 360.4 to run my highs for now though. I used to run Only JL and Zapco but shoot for the quality and price you can't beat Addictive Audio. Check out www.frebass.com if you get a chance they have info on the Addictive Audio line.

As I said on the PWK forum... Wooooo!!! This is sick! I built a 4th order bandpass for 1 12 from a design from PWK. Great output and did exactly what I wanted it to!

Does anyone ever use different size combos i.e. 2 - 8's and a 10? or anything like that...

Mixing sub combos is usually a bad decision. Unless you're using 8 inch for midbass drivers, like NoLimitzInd is doing in his xB.

To my knowledge, you'll get cancellation issues. Different sized drivers (even same drivers with different impedences) have different paramaters. Different paramaters mean that with differing impedences, each driver will play notes differently, etc.
It's pretty complicated. I'm not good with words. :D

It sounds awesome. Hey I purchased my CF hood from you guys. Anyways I took out my Zapco and went to an Addictive Audio 100.1 Amp I ran it for about 2 hours full out at our local tailgate party and no overheating. Heres my problem the box built up so much pressure that it popped both of the front subs mounting screws out the rears are fine but the fronts are screwed. I have to take the box apart and bolt the subs down. I was at a local car show were they had an spl comp and the guy metered my box for me. Its not even for spl but it hit a 139.8. I was playing sweeps and it built up a ton of pressure and popped the screws out. Other than that it has awesome range hits very low bass and very high bass.
