Default my DME ETD broke second time at the track :(

i went to the track last friday and my DME ETD that i bought from NST decided that is was gonna bend the strut bracket which i think lead to the breaking of the inside shaft at the thread

im kinda upset saying as ive only used the damn thing twice since i bought it few months back. ive only put it on for the track since i cant sand the chattering lol ... really poor build quality if you ask me.

so now im left with a broke ETD that useless to me.

just thought i would give you all a heads up

also anyone know if there are any sorta warranty on these things?

i doubt its my launching as im not dumping the clutch and shocking the ETD. i feather out the clutch when launching. im only running low 15's so its not like im putting massive amounts of hp onto it. it really shouldn't have broke imho

ill try to get pics up soon

I had the exact same thing happen to me. I had the Ingalls ETD. The top mount is like 1/2 thick and it bent right up on me. After trying to get another top bracket forever I just gave up. When I talked to the people at Ingalls they said they have heard of a few people like us. They never said what caused it but like I said I just finally gave up. I am planning on getting new motor mounts eventually and just cutting my losses. Sorry to hear it happened to you too. Good luck in your ventures.

Man, that really sucks. They better warranty it, and please let us know if they do. Honestly, I was looking at some of the parts for future purchases, and if they don't warranty this, I think I will find another company to purchase from. Like you said, you aren't running large amounts of power, so it is either a defective part or a bad design, assuming it is installed correctly. I have the Ingalls ETD, hope I never have any issues like this.

Yeah thats a pretty good bend. The way the motor rocks when you accelerate will tend to push it up so it will never last long anyways. I just wouldnt expect it from a car with IHE.

dude the same exact thing happened to me and it broke like yours, i was really expecting it to hold on race setting but i guess it just doesn't do the trick. i had bought motor mounts but sold them because idk how to install and i was thinking of getting the ingalls but if the same happens to that one then why bother throwing my money on it...unless you bolt-it on at the track and put it for use there instead of a daily driver.

IMHO the torque dampeners are just band-aids. Maybe you should look into replacing the motor mounts. I went straight for the mounts instead of an ETD and personally I love the results, and my ETs were quicker as well over stock mounts. Dezod has polyurethane motor mounts by Energy Suspension, and they're very well priced. Here's the link, hope this helps.
