View Full Version : 1 Mod Down.....54 more to go!
Eddieg 12-19-2004, 09:59 PM Well I got my box Thursday Evening (12/16), and I debadged it yesterday. Too bad the front badge does not come off without the square hole being exposed:(
Oh well guess I try to knock out my amber lenes tonight.
Old_Punk 12-19-2004, 11:00 PM Sometimes the cheapest, easiest mods are the most gratifying.
I love the way my car looks without badges. And the $20 bB badge looks so much better.
Another cheap-o mod was a no-name exhaust tip from Pep Boys.
But the best one so far, and the one that made the biggest styling impact, was snapping on some moon disks. The differences between various alloy wheels can be subtle. From a distance a bunch of spokes looks like any other bunch of spokes. But nothing else looks like a moon disk. And all four disks cost less than one alloy wheel.
So have fun, and may you be happy with all your mods.
chadfo 12-19-2004, 11:29 PM I've seen several pics on this site of XBs without the front badge. I had mine like that for a couple of months. Then I had a piece of red plexiglass cut to fit and a I put a graphic on it and this is how it looks.

BrianxB 12-20-2004, 02:42 AM I thinks cool that you tried something different chad. If I see another bB badge, Ill puke.
KevinxB 12-20-2004, 02:50 AM I do like that chad. I was thinking about losing my badges, but don't like the whole bB thing. I might have to give something like that a try, if you don't mind. Did you mount it using emblem tape or something else?
i want a little CF patch to put in there
I got some extra CF, I will send a free piece with a purchase of an axle back from www.precisionmuffler.com
windowtint 12-20-2004, 03:56 AM I got a piece left over too -- 2x2 twill --- about 60" wide and 9? 10'? long .... you need that much?
TJandBOXCARWILLIE 12-20-2004, 06:49 AM Nice work there Chad. With my xB, I took off the xB on the back. And when I got the black front grill for my Box, I kept my BCP SCION badge, and put that on the Black Grill. It's not much, but the color being not the same as the grill makes it look neat, IMHO. Plus with all the other black bits and pieces on my Box, goes along with the 'two tone' I have...One tone is Black, the other is Black Cherry Pearl.
Okay, enough of my yaking. Let's boogie.
chadfo 12-20-2004, 11:56 AM KevinxB,
Yes, it's just very strong double-sided tape. They gave it to me with the plexi so I don't know what it's called. It's not the standard 3M foam stuff though.
KevinxB 12-20-2004, 05:33 PM Thanks! I think they make double-sided tape specifically for putting on badges and trim. I'll probably pick up some of that if I give this a try.

3m makes what they call "body moulding adheasive tape" gray, bout 1/8" thick. sell it in rolls.
Works great.

There are probably other online sources as well as your local hubcap shop.
