i had nearly the exact same damage to my tc last month. just driving to work in broad daylight, it ran accross two lanes right into my car from behind a line of bushes. i was ____ed. atleast i get the satisfaction of knowing it died a slow and painful death.

Ouch! Another Camo hit by Bambi!!

Yours looks almost exactly like how Stubby looked after his Bambicide run-in last year, only Stubby's damage was to the driver's side. After the body shop got done, you couldn't tell it ever happened and it only cost me the $200 deductible -- the amount for "comprehensive". It wasn't "collision" because . . . because . . . I don't know why; that just the way it is. Maybe because Bambi ran into Stubby and not the other way?

From http://auto.howstuffworks.com/car-insurance.htm:

Collision - This coverage pays for damages to your vehicle caused by collision with another vehicle or object

Comprehensive - This coverage pays for loss or damage to the insured vehicle that doesn't occur in an auto accident. The types of damages comprehensive insurance covers include loss caused by fire, wind, hail, flood, vandalism or theft.

So I guess Bambi isn't an object and Stubby wasn't in an accident.

It falls under comprehensive because I believe the insurance companies consider animal hits to be 'acts of god'.

Yea... it stinks for sure. Not sure if collision and comprehensive coverage is the same in every state, but my policy clearly indicates a 5 hundo deductible for each.

Took it to a body shop my family has been dealing with for a while. Going to meet with him Monday to nitpick some stuff. Already the adjuster has me down for only one head lamp replacement, which blows because the other one has seen 133k of highway madness... pitted, etc... That is a no go for sure.

meh... could have been worse. I'm alive and about to eat steak that has been marinating for 4 days..... mmmmm steak....

things would definitely have been BAD.they call that damage
"easy fix" and "yard drives".hope you kept the deer they make
great steaks.
