What do you guys this is best.....
Alpine Type-R 6.5"
or
Boston Acoustics SL Series 6.5"

 

i install the type r's all the time. they have a nice clean sound to them. but we dont carry boston acoustics so i cant compare them. if you go with something like the type r's you should be running a 4 ch amp. having really nice speakers that take 100 rms each! with a deck that push's 18 rms is a waste of money!!!!! also look at the signal to noise ratio the higher the better!

i work with alot of infinity kapa stuff. same price range great stuff!!! you should check them out the infinity kapa comps is what i would recomend.

I've been looking to upgrade my speakers in my car as well and have been debating a lot on which to get.

The three that I have kind of boiled it down to are:
Alpine Type-R's
eD (elemental design) 9.65i's
Infinity Kappa's

The more and more I look it over though, the more I'm thinking about going with the elemental design speakers, a little bit cheaper and they've been incredibly helpful with me so far. Just got one of their SQ10 shallow subs, once I get that installed, and it does what I want it to, that'll probably sell me, but we'll see...

kappa perfect 6.1s front and rear and kappa perfect sub :D

 

Of those 2, I'd definitely go with Boston's S L series, not Alpine Rs.
