Troys_tc 09-24-2008, 03:38 PM Ok I have been searching for some fender flares for my tc for awhile now, and I can't seem to find any... Does anyone know where I can get some that are for the tc application and not universal. I want to keep the stock front and rear bumpers on my car, but I am planning on running a widder wheel and tire setup so I just need fender flares to make it look semi-cool. I have been able to locate the trd flares for the last gen celica, any input on if those will fit our car, being that the body is ruffly the same size.
Thanks for the help,
Troy
IcetC 09-24-2008, 03:41 PM Check trdsparks.com I believe they sell them on there also search there was a thread awhile back someone threw a set on a sw tc looked real nice made it kinda look like a g35 at some angles
Troys_tc 09-24-2008, 03:52 PM Yeah thanks there are on there, and the are a little pricey for just being primmed
optional 09-24-2008, 05:47 PM you think those are pricey? wow.
i'd like to see the wheels you're getting then... i hope they can withstand the weight of the car lol.
Troys_tc 09-24-2008, 06:45 PM I just mean with tax, shipping, and paint I am looking at over 400
rosedaleny806 09-24-2008, 06:46 PM y dont u jus pull the fenders? flares look corny
Ace83 09-24-2008, 06:51 PM those flares arent gonna help with your wider wheels and tires, it doesnt look good imo
AlanW 09-24-2008, 07:02 PM Roll and then flare your fenders, it'll probably look more natural than those aftermarket ones. They look too tacky.
rippintC 09-25-2008, 03:43 AM doesnt seibon make cf ones that are 10 mm wider? check those out..
yellowxhoodie 09-25-2008, 03:24 PM i smell...fail.
BlckdOutTC 09-25-2008, 03:45 PM i smell....sniff sniff skanks...
yellowxhoodie 09-25-2008, 03:49 PM hahahaha.
Troys_tc 09-25-2008, 03:55 PM No, I am going to move forward with my plans, saturday I put my new wet kit inn this weekend I am putting on myowering kit and am going to pick up my wheels... I just feel that I may have asked my question to the wrong people, because I wasn't asking what people thought of fender flares, I asked where I could get some... But in true form some blogers had to put there to cents in... I am moving forward as planned but I belive for what I am wanting to do which is use flares to bring out the edge of the fenders so I can run a very wide tire, I am going to have to run universals and custom fit them unless someone has seen a 1.5 inch to 2 inch tc specific flare
yellowxhoodie 09-25-2008, 04:23 PM you didnt ask the wrong people...you just overlooked the answers.
it was already stated that the flares would not help with the wider tires and rims you wanted.
and
if you think $400 is alot for 4 painted fender flares then good luck paying for a set of custom rims that will look "good" in your fender flares.
HR_Guy 09-25-2008, 06:22 PM Flares are only asthetic - they don't make your fenders wider. If you want to run wider wheels and tires, you need either a widebody kit that replaces the fenders, or to pull the fenders.
Troys_tc 09-25-2008, 07:12 PM That is what I want, there is a company that makes a wide body for the tc out of fiberglass or carbonfiber, and the fender flares for that kit look like they would work as just flares and not needing the kit as a whole to look right, and with the amount of carbonfiber that is already on my car I think just the carbon flares would look good,m and I understand they a just for looks but I want to run a 10 inch tire with out rubbing so I need flares so it doesn't look like a lowrider rolling on some hudred spokes
yellowxhoodie 09-25-2008, 07:22 PM are you retarded?
you just stated the most contradicting statement ever.
you said you know fender flares are just for looks but you need them to run a 10" wide tire...

Troys_tc 09-25-2008, 07:27 PM Man go f you self
yellowxhoodie 09-25-2008, 07:30 PM im just sayin.

rosedaleny806 09-25-2008, 07:34 PM wow this kid fails for clearly saying HE WANTS FENDER FLARES FOR A WIDE RIM BUT CLEARLY KNOW IT DOES NOT DO ANYTHING BUT JUS FOR LOOKS.
SO WTF IS THE POINT DO IT RIGHT Pull and roll fenders wtf if u dont like opinions on HOW TO DO IT RIGHT then dont post mr. obx header and having a turbo as an avatar???
Troys_tc 09-25-2008, 07:37 PM I think half the fuks on here don't know ____ about dick, I know my ____ and apparently you don't

except when its comes to fender flares and 10" wide tires.
rosedaleny806 09-25-2008, 07:46 PM I think half the fuks on here don't know poop about dick, I know my poop and apparently you don't
OBVISOULY RIGTH THERE U CONTRADICTED URSELF
ur asking us how to make ur amazingly wide wheel fit?? so wtf does taht mean? u dont know sh*t bro get ur bomz intake and obx header out of here and do it the right way not puttin on a fender flare that does NOTHING
pull fender bottom line
HR_Guy 09-25-2008, 08:03 PM You said you didn't want the flares from trdsparks because of the cost. But even if they were $100 painted and shipped, they still wouldn't allow you to run wider tires. They just make your fenders look flared. To actually make room for wider tires, you need to either completely replace the fenders with a widebody kit (not just flares) or pull the fenders out. That is the only way to get more room - flares just stick on, but the tires will rub like a biscuit if the fenders are stock and you have 10" tires.
You really need to not get ____y with people on here. They are trying to prevent you from wasting your money.
muuunkeeyy 09-27-2008, 06:00 PM well if this kid really wants his answer. it was already given to him. Trdsparks.com or find it some at some other place. case clased. we give you information, take it or leave it. SL members have been pretty helpful to me, i just you just push the wrong buttons or just dumb.
Aroddalobster 09-27-2008, 06:42 PM lol now i'm interested in if this guy wasted the 400$ and learned his lesson...
nebster 09-27-2008, 06:42 PM haha
400 bucks (expensive) for fender flares or 5-6k (must be what his life is worth) for a cf widebody kit painted and installed
awesome
t_urbo_C_harged 09-27-2008, 09:30 PM hey troy, it is excellenCE.... not excellenTS... lmao....
AlanW 09-27-2008, 09:49 PM Wow, talk about ignorant. Just get it in your head that you need to either pull/roll your fenders before you can have any of that fit. Either that option or get a widebody kit and not just the fenders because you'll need the small section near the front bumper to fit with the widebody kit and a simple pull/roll probably won't get it to line up flush with the kit.
Stop trying to defend your position, it's wrong and we're telling you. Take the advice and don't waste money on something that won't do anything for what you want.
yellowxhoodie 09-28-2008, 06:04 AM you guys are to late.
this thread is already over. lol

DownhillSpec 10-04-2008, 03:22 PM i think what the guy was shooting for was a fender flare like so...
http://www.spiderwebdev.net/240z/images/432flares-blue1.jpg
which does indeed help with running wider tires if you go through the proper steps of installing which involve cutting the fenders in the front and in the rear cutting into the unibody, folding the metal upwards, then welding it together again. i see what hes going for but with a 400.00 dollar budget i agree that he wont get far unless he has mad torch and grinder skillz.
