Default 06.5 Taillight Removal....

WTF? with out cutting plastic or sheetmetal or the use of mirrors, how do you get them off?

And yes, i have looked in the tech forum, they make it look easy. Remove the access cover pop out 2 10mm bolts unclip the plug and tada.

I can feel around and get the bottom bolt but the top one seems impossible to access, also whats the clip look like i am trying to unplug?

Keep trying the other one it is posssible, but also is a very tight area.

You will see the plug either when you pull the taillights out or inside the access cover. best to see what the plug is when you get the taillights out.

it is easy. the plug is located on the back of the center light socket (if you're running the OE lights). just depress the clip and pull away. then take out the 2 10mm nuts and you're done.

just don't drop any of those nuts. They'll forever end up in a "black hole"

stuff a towel in the bottom so if you drop your nuts you can find them without cursing
it helps to shine a light in there to get a good look before starting,
yeah and its a _____ with big hands i used a 1/4 socket set with an universal adapter
to get them off
If you have the TYC's that were an option there will be 3 wires to unhook when they install them there is a harness adapter added to stock socket to get them to work. It helps to get the nuts off if you push in on the tails (against the seal) to help relieve tension

Good luck

Yea, access back there sucks.
The harness is in the center, you can follow the wires to it.
I find that it's easier to place the socket/short extension on the bolt first, and then attach the ratchet.
I hate changing tails out.
