Hey everyone. I'm from Detroit, MI and I'm trying to plan a trip out to Vegas for the Sema show this year.

I wanted some info from people who have been to the show before.

1. Is there a Public day as its a trade show?

2. If not how hard is it to get in?

I have lots of friends in the industry which I could register for the show under thier company name if thats the problem.


Any info anyone has will help me out alot!

And if anyone else is going hit me up. I'm staying at Mandalay bay that whole week.

You need to be an employee of someone in the industry. So if you have friends get them to hook you up for it. You don't want to miss SEMA.

Ive been going since i was 11 and each year is bigger and bigger, BUT the only gripe I have is, people who go there for the first time think its there time to shine by going to every company and asking for a sponsorship. Thats not what SEMA is about. lol. I love watching kids go up to Volk, Turbonetics, DUB, etc asking to sponsor their cars.

After parties are dope as F though! Me and the fam went to the Scion party last year and wow, I only remember 10 min of it.

Your absolutely correct. Last year i was parked out side at SEMA next to some chevelles, and they were like who makes Scion, whats a Scion. After i explained he was understanding. Im sure if we tried to understand some of the older cars we would have the same questions.

I had my mind set on getting rid of it for an Evo X or a 135i, but I was waiting for all my contracts to be up before I listed it for sale. Then it got me thinking.....I didn't spend 20k+ to keep a car garaged for 11 months & not even drive it or be able to enjoy it. Heck, it barely even hit this yrs show season. I think I did maybe 4 local shows & 2 HIN's with the car & that's it. The 24th will mark 3 yrs of me owning the tC & I've just BARELY broken 19k miles on it. So I'm going to do some changes to it & make the car driveable & actually enjoy it. So, it'll be going to SEMA the way it is now (with very minor changes) & then I'll start doing the important stuff after the show to MY liking (no wow-factor with the next stage). I'm not gonna try and redo this entire build with a 2 weeks notice for SEMA like I did last year. I built it in 10 weeks & it was NO fun. This time, I'm going at my pace, & having fun with it, stress-free! & I'll enjoy it even more this time around knowing it's paid off. :)

Plus, if I were to sell the car, I know I wouldn't even get 20k for it so I'm not willing to take the hit, maybe I'll sell it in 2010 or something, but who knows.

Well its good to see your keeping the tC. I really like it! When are you going to be leaving to SEMA. Maybe we can roll together and Jake will be following me like last year.
