Default Help on Fuel Return Line Setup.. Q?

I have been searching on the net to see how others have installed their fuel return line.. So far I understand running and a hooking it up to the fuel rail and the regulator. The part I'm confused with is the return line inlet at the pump. I know that you drill a hole and place a fitting there just what i've seen is that and more.. not just dropping a line in the tank.. but running it into where the regulator in the pump housing.. IS IT NECESSARY??

Where would you find this?

From what I have seen, if you keep the stock regulator into the mix, it will put a cap on how much FP you can run. One of our customers ran into that where he could only run 50 PSI

mine is dumping into the tank just like the first picture (except not dumping on top of the pump). I dont have a picture of it, sorry. It is exactly the same piece used in the top picture.

I'm using the Aeromotive bypass regulator. Everything hooks up like stock and route the return line to the top of the fuel pump. I drilled a hole through the metal plate that holds down the fuel pump and a hole in the plastic fuel pump housing. I am in Iraq or I would take pictures. All I did was get a -6AN bulkhead fitting for the top of the fuel pump no hose down in the tank or anything. Works fine with no issues.

Just wondering if I can't get that adaptor just to take out the stock FPR in the pump housing and just fit a hose in there and some how secure it in there.. Would be pretty much what is being done up there in the illustrations above.

Cause if the pump has a regulator that only is able to allow 43-55psi. then what is the point of the external aeromotive regulator.

I found out that Altered Atmosphere offers a fuel return line setup with the fitting that i have shown in the above illustration.. Complete kit -6 fuel rail, fittings, lines, and regulator, and removes the stock fuel pressure regulator in the tank so you can get the full effect of the aftermarket one.. No images.. They also offer a lot on the tCs but haven't put anything on the website.. they are pretty under the radar.. contact mikem@alteredatmosphere.com nice guy...
