Last night at the valley meet, I got my intake from SPFR( Jon ), and installed it this morning. Installation took me just about 20 minutes, only cause I didn't know what I was doing.

I did notice a bit of power increase after I was done, I dont know how much, but I know the power is there. I drove it for about 20 minutes, and came back home. The intake was totally ice cold, I must say, it is money well spent.

I will find out the next time I fill up. I dont drive the car a huge amount so I might not post results for another 2 weeks.

it doesn't really affect the mileage. it depends more on how you drive. if you drive like a maniac, you are going to get 25mpg. if you drive really cool and take it easy, you will get between 31-35mpg. those are my results, and i have the SPFR intake. that 1.42whp makes a big difference! everyone should get one.

i just have one question-- when you bought that optima blue top battery did they tell you it is a marine battery, made for boats? what is the ampage of it? does it really work well? just want to know because i was going to get one to colormatch my s10 but i found out it was for boats so i did not get it. (not joking around or making fun, i just want to know)

other than that the intake looks awesome. i think i will get that one too.

on my box i noticed about a 4mpg gain after adding the SPFR intake!

driving like a madman around town stock i would get as little as 21-23mpg, now with the intake, and even after switching to 18" wheels, i'm getting closer to 25-27mpg, even with no freeway driving.

but there are a lot of factors that could cause that, gas, wind, temp, driving mood etc...

so that means:

your milage and HP gains may vary ;)

but ya ToolBox, the SPFR is a great intake, i love mine!

the blue top optima is a marine battery but it still functions like a regular car battery my friend has had one in his car for over a year no problems.

We're running a red optima in our car, and we've had no problems at all...works just fine. That car also has an AEM intake in it, which makes a difference over stock.

In my own xB, I'm running the SPFR intake, and it makes a HUGE difference, even over the AEM one...I love it.

I usually average about 30 MPG, and can squeeze out about 300 miles between fillups.

Off topic question:

Im getting around 270 miles on each tank (before the reserve light pops on)

I remember reading that resetting the ecu will change this? and can be done by disconnecting the battery?

Yeah, looks like you just replaced the stock airbox with a K&N filter.
