View Full Version : xB.....so near yet so far
hotXBBoy 12-21-2004, 01:18 AM good news: My TCM xB arrived today :D
bad news: CapitalOne Auto Finance quoted me a outrageous APR :x
my 5-speed xB arrived at the dealer today with 1 mile on it....i put 2 more on the test drive......just need to sell-off the old car, work out my finances and I will be behind the wheel :)
capitalone gave me a very high APR even though I have a decent credit score (close to 700)...support guy said it might have been because I applied thru carfund.com....he suggested me to apply directly at capitalone website..
what do ya guys suggest?? what other places i shud try (my credit union is one option...
xBizzle 12-21-2004, 01:22 AM If your score is THAT close to 700, you should be offered a pretty good rate. It couldn't hurt to apply at the capitalone.com website to see what they'll do. Both of our current cars are financed through them, and we will use them for the next ones, too.
There are a few online lenders, and most of them should be able to beat credit union rates.
hotXBBoy 12-21-2004, 01:49 AM thanks....
I just applied to my credit union.....per your suggestion, I will try capitalone website too...
I had checked my Experian score..it was very close to 700....that factors that could have gone against me are:
- My credit history length is not long enough (less than 2 years)
- I moved quite a bit....I havent completed 6 months at my current place, neither did I at my previous address....
- I also did change my job recently...
online..hmm...eLoan, LendingTree?
grnxb 12-21-2004, 01:56 AM I was going to suggest the CU, but you already did. What was Scion financing going to charge you?
Regardless, best of luck
hotXBBoy 12-21-2004, 02:02 AM I havent tried there yet....
per scion.com, FICO of 690 - 729 should get 4.4%.....
but again I dont know how true are they to their claims......moreover, I am a bit apprehensive ever since I got a high APR from CapitalOne....
I shouldnt be trying too many places, right? since all those inquiries would lower my FICO...
Scionic_Librarian 12-21-2004, 04:02 AM Dude.. yer in the bank/corporate headquarter state. And you're using terms like FICO easily.
As long as it's 48-60 mos. below 4.5%.. you sound like you know what you're doing already. Just do it, dammit. For the xB.
I shouldnt be trying too many places, right? since all those inquiries would lower my FICO...
Very true.
hotXBBoy 12-21-2004, 04:54 AM thanks a lot buddies....hopefully I will get this sorted out in next 2-3 days...
wish me luck :)
Big_Jim 12-21-2004, 04:57 AM Good luck man. keep us updated on what happens.

I went with Toyota Financing and got a good rate. I think it was 4.4%. Try them, you have notheing to lose. Apply several spots take the lowest rate. Good luck.
hotXBBoy 12-21-2004, 11:14 PM hey guys,
I tried with Chase today and got an APR of 4.74% (after employee discount)......am so happy...especially so after getting very high APRs from capitalone and eloan....
