If you engine goes pop that means something wasn't put together right or management problems. If you have a good tune it will last but the engine will show accelerated wear and not have as much power to the wheels over time.

I am not turbo but am plaining on it when the time is right. But the main keys are know what your doing, get a good tune, do the needed maintanence and get a turbo timer or sit there and let your engine run down for a minute or 2. These things will allow for a long lasting engine even being turbo. Just be smart and if you have questions ask.

Not to sound like a dick but its because this question has been asked 1,000,000,000 times.

Good tune and your good. Stay under 10psi on pump gas.

I put on my turbo at 2500 miles and I now have 30K miles, no problems. Most of that time I was boosting 11 - 14 psi....

Scionkidd (i think that's his username) said he's got pretty high mileage on his turbo tC, and from what I gather, he drives this ____ out of that car.

It all comes down to the tune.

Wait, is this Kenny Strickler, formerly of ZPI? If so, run, run hard, run fast, and run as far away from him as you can. Just search for ZPI here on Scionlife and you will see he has been single-handedly the most damaging person to turbo'd Scion owners. I'm not speaking of his technical ability; his business practices are absolutely criminal. He sweet talks, makes excuses and in the end royally screws over customes.

Here's a 56 page thread on the subject:
What really happend to ZPI - **Update on Pg1**

As a fellow Scion owner, please take heed, I'd hate to see another one burned. Go with ANYONE else, here's a few to start you off.

Greddy - name brand but least value for the money, is reliable. You're paying for the name
Turbonetics - great turbo, a little pricey
Turbotoyotas - another great kit, but with potentially multi-month wait times
PTuning- not quite out yet, but will be high quality and excellent fit
Used ZPI- the kits themselves are solid, and dirt cheap. They will probably need upgrades so find a good shop.
