I don't know if ANY OF YOU NOTICED - Eggum to drive Scion
I don't even understand why Toyota seems bent on investing in sport compact draging cleary nobody driving a Corolla or Scion is interested in it seriously.
Which is prolly why it wasn't even a subject here, but in CASE YOU MISSED IT.

Scion tC Hot Rod Class racer

Ms Eggum
Memo to Scion owners.... If you want more serious SPEED hardware, you need to get your booties out there and race the darn things.
I know by some of you selecting AUTOMATICS you had no intention of having a seriously fast car anyway, but since I LOVE the car and don't want to see it treated as a poser in the media, I would like to drum up some grassroots support for Eggum and her car and maybe for a few of you to actually SHOW up and RUN at the strip.

Its much easier to build a nice show car, there's nothing hard about it.
Oh but its takes some actual SMARTS to be fast....
wait, you do know thats a photoshop job right? maybe i missed something but i agree that i dont wanna see this car as the next civic...once the clear taillights start to pop up its alllllll downhill. And oh yeah, did you know that ridiculously loud ricer exhaust make your car faster!

Eggum lands new ride: Stephanie Eggum has been named the driver of the Dragshotz Racing Scion tC that will be campaigned in the NHRA Turbo Magazine Hot Rod class in 2005.
The Dragshotz Racing 2005 Scion tC has been extensively lightened with the use of many exotic materials and is fitted with a 2.5 liter NORAD 3RZ powerplant coupled to an Xtrac 2005 spec four-speed sequential transmission. A Precision Turbo-supplied Garrett turbocharger supplies up to 55 pounds of boost and the engine management and data logging functions are handled by a Motec M880 ECU and Motec ADL dash. The car will roll on lightweight Mickey Thompson racing wheels and Mickey Thompson tires.
"I am serious about racing and I love to compete, I don't expect or want any special treatment because I'm a girl," said the 24-year-old Chicago-area resident. "Lisa Kubo is an inspiration to me. She is a great driver and has got to the top of our sport because she works hard and is totally dedicated." She explains. "All I want to do is win races and show that driving ability and hard work gets results no matter what. If I need to get my hands dirty and help the crew change an engine I'll do it and I'll be working alongside the guy's as long as it takes. For me this is all about teamwork."

Sorry, my age is showing. Back in the day FWD cars were a joke at the drag strip. I guess things have changed...
Still. I know what its like to redline a carburated 5.7 liter V8... there's a sound not too many FWD drivers are familar with.

Yo, that Scion Drag car better be fast. They have a lot of work to do to run with the PRO FWD Saturn Ion QC. Go ahead, laugh. haha Saturn, it's funny right? Nope. Saturn is a major player in the PRO FWD category. That Cavalier is the only real competitor for the ION. It's always the Saturn and the Chevy battling it out. This Scion drag car has a big challenge ahead of it. Hope it's up to it.
