Is there a Hidden Menu on the stock Nav Head Unit?
I did a search and went back through the book real fast but don't see anything on a hidden menu. Is there one to change the start up screen?

yeah there is. I did it when I had my stock HU, but it's not very intuitive, so I completely forgot.
There is also a secret car selection menu, if you hold down the SSP button.
edit: i didn't see the "nav" part after "stock"

No, the Scion Navigation System does not have a hidden menu to change the start up screen. It does, however, have a hidden System Check Mode. The instructions on how to access the System Check Mode can be found on pages 14-17 of the SNS installation instructions on TRDsparks.com:
http://www.trdsparks.com/install/08545-00931inst.pdf
System Check Mode allows you to do 3 main system checks:
Service Check
Display Check
Navigation Check
it also has touch screen buttons for Camera Check & Bluetooth TEL Check, but since the SNS100 doesn't come with those modules they're not lit up & don't do anything.
Service Check didn't seem to show much of anything, maybe it's only for service techs to use.
Display Check lets you look at:
Color Bar Check
Touch Switch Check
Panel Switch Check
Vehicle Switch Check
Navigation Check lets you look at:
GPS Information
Vehicle Sensors
Color Bar Check
Memory Copy/Paste
Parts Information (navi system software is AISIN AW version 398100D, and my DVD disc info is denso version 06.05.12)
DVD Player Information
The only informative fact I gained is that it confirmed that the SNS navi system software is not by Panasonic or Alpine, as many people erroneously thought. The sound system technology is Alpine, just not the navi software. It also let me know that the navi DVD database disc is almost 2-1/2 years old, even though I've only owned the xB for less than a year.
All in all, pretty useless, but now you know.
