Word of the wise for the day.... Do not over torque doughnut exhaust gasket to the point of breakage when exhaust pipe is still hot.

Anyone else ever broken this before? Going to try and drill out the remainder of the bolt still stuck in said piece of four letter word, and put a sturdier nut and bolt in... will give full report on further failage later.

How it was explained to me: Torque it until it strips; then back off half-a-turn.
