Default RUST!?!

Ok so today I went to start my box and the lawn guys here at school did a number on it with grass and dust, so I took to have her hand washed. She's all clean and perrty, so I was inspecting her before I left and I see these two little maroon coloured holes above my windshield and i go to pic at it to see if it's dirt or what. Well it turns out it's rust. I guess I hit a rock or something so hard it went straight to the metal and over however long it's been there, it has rusted. This really SUCKS! my 3.5 year old baby has rust already, WTF!!

Not to mention I noticed another scuff on my bumper where someone has hit me and driven off. What a great day!

my car has some rust too. around the fender of the rear wheel, by the hood, all from rocks and poop. I just sanded off the rust and repainted it.

I have one spot on my a-pillar where a rock chip hit to the metal. At least it wasn't the windshield, I guess.

What do you expect, it's made of steel... just get some touch up paint and it's fixed.

Same here. I have a few right above the windshield as well. The rust MUST be taken care of 1st before you touch it up.

Default Trunk opener

Check out the rust on your trunk door opener button. I was truly disappointed to see the poor quality of that product...

I have an electronic rust preventer installed on my box and it really has prevented any rusting on it since I do have a couple of rock chips that went right into the metal and been there for a few months now and has not rusted yet. I had this same device on previous vehicles and it help prevent rusting on them too. Some say they do not work, but it seems to be working just fine.

^^Care to tell what product is called?

Also, you live in Texas, that is noting like the Northeast Mountains. Not bashing, just saying we are more prone to rust up here.

@Sipel I will def look there, I didnt even think about that.

There are a few of electronic Rust protection devices on the market, (RustStop, CounterAct). I can't say how well these two work since I've never tried them but the one I have used for the last 8 years is The Rust Terminator (http://www.stevenscarcare.com/main/rtr/index.html). It works very well and I have them on three vehicles. It's very easy to install them. I live by the Gulf Coast in south Texas.
