Default going against all advice

well.. as much as you guys/girls might hate this idea, ive decided to go against all advice ive heard about wheel adapters and get them anyhow... i understand that i might be taking a huge risk by running adapters, but there are just too many 5x114.3 rims that i truly enjoy...

SO with that being said.. where do i get a 5x100 to 5x114.3 adapter? any reputable companies?

please keep all "adapters are wiggidy wack" and "you noob adapters suck" comments outta here...

THANKS!

just kiddin.

TireRack has them; I bought some a few yrs ago for a beater car I had. Not sure their prices these days... I'm sure a google search would yield best results.

Call and talk to Fred (owner). He'll run you through your options. I know people (VW guys) who use his adapters without any problems. This guy makes wheel adapters for duellys and hot rods, among other cars. The 5x114.3 wheels need to be high offset, like et50-55.

i used to think the same thing about adapters, but all the euro guys do it with no problems. although the fact that they use lug bolts instead of log nuts could make a difference.

my point is this...

why?

you're going to have to run high offset 5x114.3 by the time everything is said and done you could have just gotten wheels that supposed to fit our car than deal with 114.3

what wheels are so amazing that you can't go with somethign else?

Talk to MrC @ PTuning. They use a custom hub to fit their 5x114 Advans.

x2

And that's going to take half the fun out of it

But I would also suggest checking out what the guys on VWVortex.com are using, if your other options don't work out.

alot of FWD 5x114.3 wheels run high offsets. Honda (S2000/NSX) and Mazda RX8 run high offsets too, which is weird for being RWD.

We used to run them a bit on the Focus ZX3's (had a crazy rare 4x108 bolt pattern) to get it to 4x100 so we could use Honduh rims haha. I never saw anyone have a problem with them. All the autocrossers and road racers didn't use 'em, but that's pretty much common sense for safety.
