You think so? Im not sure how i feel about it yet. It was a super quick job my friend and i did. We had 2 of the wheels off and all the sudden it started raining so we couldn't clear coat them or anything yet.

Oh for sure, we are going to re-do them all when it gets nice again (been f*cking 1 week of straight rain) so once it warms up and i can spend a day on them imma put another coat or two of white on (there is 4 on right now) and then like 6 coats of clear and they will be good to go

I think the only reason why it's bouncy is cuz I have such a low profile tire. When I had my stock wheels on at this height, it was basically as smooth as when I had my stechs

everyone is just giving their opinions of what THEY would do if that was their car. but since its yours, do as you'd like. a few people have told me camber is retarded, but i love it(a certain amount, not too much). literally, forums are about people giving out advice and putting in opinions. let the haters hate, and do whatever makes you happy with YOUR car. personally, im not feeling the wheels too well either, but thats just me. im sure many people out there like yourself really like your setup.

For the tail lights I used Testors Candy Apple Red spray paint w/ Testors Clearcoat and I used Painters Blue tape for masking.

yea the black lip throws off a lot of ppl. I've been back and forth lately tryna figure out a color to repaint wheels. Unless you see it in person, its hard to see the stretch let alone the wheel from the tire.

thanks man! I still have a bit of tweaking to do until i am 100% happy with it, but i like it. I am on racelands, all fenders rolled, front fender liners pulled. I still have like 3 threads left in the front with both rings in and like 7 threads in the back.

And pulling the fender liners isn't really "bad" for the car. The only reason it would be is if you have a CAI. I have a SRI so im not worried about it, my engine bay hasn't gotten dirty or anything and nothing has happened to my fogs. So, i would say it's kosher

^You answered what I was going to ask about removing the fender liners. Though I think my engine bay would get dirty sooner because of dirt/dust in the air.

We have a lot of pollen and whatnot here and have gotten A LOT of rain lately. I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you are worried, you can do what my buddy did, and he went into the fender wall where the little hole is going into the engine bay and covered it with a piece of plastic and 3M taped it in place.

Once I get extra cash I am going to get some racelands. I have been hesitant due to all these issues people have with them but I think I'm just going to go for it and do it!!

Sorry about that delay. Yea for the most part I daily my tC I've only had it for 8 months from stock to well now... but it handles like a dream honestly once I fixed some issues with my control arms riding on unibody everything was better. I'll slam on/off ramps at 75-80 no problem and prior to my air lift struts I was running tein SSP w/upper pillows and those did handle better but not by a lot... Mind you I noticed the largest difference changing from khumo cheapos on a 18x7.5 heavy rim to a 17x8 17x9 staggered on nitto neo gen...

Ultimately no complaints other than I wouldn't buy air lifts management/valves and I drive lower than I ever did static now... have about a 1/2 inch to an inch of clearance driving and 1/4 inch parked... some times i just leave the rear end down and just drag exhaust pipe and scrape like it's a job just because... Over all well worth the investment and so few tCs have it that it's awesome and the ones that do have it are on body kits or some hideous god awful rim that just looks terrible... New England scion game = a shame imho

If you were considering it tho... GO FOR IT, a lot and I mean A LOT of work goes in to making it sit hella low... lot of body mods to run wide rims and tuck if I could go back and do it all again I'd be in a mk4 gli without a doubt...

Here's mine lowered on TRD whites, wheels are ASA AR1 18x8 35et 225/40/18 Perfect size for daily driving, no rubbing or roller fenders. Thinking of witching to s techs or hotchkis if I can find a set. I Installed a set of hotchkis springs on my gf car and they where terrible the passenger side was like an inch lower than the drivers side and the rear was stock looking. Idk what was up with them but I switch them back out for trds and I had no issues.

X2 agree with TRD. Robear I see what your going for but it looks kinda funny. A slight spacer addition in the front will give it a better look.

i was actually looking into it, as i want to go lower, fronts are fine to me i guess. what i want to know is how to go lower in the rear maxed them out and they dont seem to be as low as your rears.

I took a perch out in the rear. To get real low in the rear, i.e. even with the front you need the shortened housings. I believe theyre like $90 each.

Thanks. I want to go lower but I have enough difficulty with my driveway and speedbumps in my neighborhood right now as it is. I'm trying to find some steel plates for my driveway then I'll be more inclined to go lower. Plus I want some spacers pretty bad, waiting for my company to bring them in.

Go with Raceland coilovers. I am going to purchase them during or after winter.

Yeah, pretty much stuck here until I figure out how to go lower. I don't know if I want 35 series tires. Camber may be an option, but I'll need arms and sh*t. So for now, this is it.

I've heard from many people that they're significantly more uncomfortable. That and I'm not sure I want to worry about that stretch, a 215/35 on a 9.5. I'm sure it's not crazy or anything, but I really don't have to think much about my 215/40s. Zero problems. Only check tire pressure once or twice month. Overall I'm happy running 40 series.

The real solution? I need 17s!

Anyone have any pictures with cut stock springs? Id like to see that, I know its ghetto as all ghetto can be, but its moar low till I get coilovers.

Pics of a car on cut springs are completely worthless. It would depend on how much was cut.

Why can't you just wait until you get coilovers? I will never understand how people can cheap out for a supposed "temporary" solution that most likely costs money that could be used to get you what you want sooner.

Oh and cutting springs isn't just ghetto, it's completely ____ing stupid.

See pics posted all in this thread, that's how the car will look if you cut the springs, just like any other lowered car. As far as ride quality, garbage. You'll be replacing shocks faster than Texas weather changes.

Just save your money and get the new springs. Cutting your stocks are not only a bad idea but its unsafe as well. After cutting your stockies you will have an unbelievably bouncy ride and it will be at least a month before the springs actually stiffen up and settle lower than what your car was already sitting at. Just save and get the springs so youll still have the stock ones incase something happens to your aftermarket ones.

Whats the drop on each brand? H-Techs are a fair drop but wont cover ur gap completly to what ive seen, there are a couple of people that have them here. Look around... If you can get coilovers that will be best desicion. Idk about hotchicks all i know is that they discontinue n r hard to find around sometimes

The drops are almost identical looking even though they are different drops. I would get coilovers but money is an issue. S-Techs are an awesome drop but i would scrape too much where i live.

I guess my decision will be whichever has the smoothest ride. I heard the Hotchkis ride stiff and a few people didnt like it. I wonder how the H-Techs ride.

Its a pretty tough decision tho... I like stiff ride... Not that bouncy ride like some cars... I have raceland coilovers they pretty good so far and they like $350. Ive been having them for about a year they still running good. Have also in mind that you might change socks and struts later on if u jst get springs, but since the drop is not tht much, you'll be fine for now. Look 5 posts up from this, the white tc is my car, not lower all the way but its a fair drop for the streets i live. About 2.5 all around.

I went with the Tein H-Techs. I guess bc they are cheaper and ive heard great things about Tein and i didnt like how they discontinued Hotchkis. Cant wait for them to come in and get them installed! Will post pics.

I couldn't take any today on a count of the rain you see in the pics haha. After I lower the back tomorrow I'll be sure to get some. The fronts are maxed and I'm about a half inch higher then I was on my B&Gs.

Thanks Jasper, I've done more research on them, and pretty much every review I found backs up what you've heard. I'm now looking into FnF typeII coilovers. They're a bit more expensive but so far I've been seeing good feedback.

Seemed the rears didn't go low enough for his liking. I think a shorter spring would have taken care of that though.

^ I think he was on the edge of parting out. He was going to buy my old Rokkors just have something to drop on. I think he went to F&F because he's slowly getting back into the game. I'm sure he'll chime in, though.

If i could have snagged B&Gs again I would have but I got a good deal on the F&Fs. I tried locating a shorter rear spring when I had them but B&G uses the shortest available after searching through sprint, eibach, and tein. Im satisfied with the F&F drop but for anyone wanting to go as low on these all you need is a shorter spring up front.

Side shots coming soon, weather has been ____ty all weekend so I still didnt get to lower the rear.

I emailed BC and seems they have a shorter spring that'll work with B&G. It is true that B&G uses the shortest spring they offer for the rear for the tC.

That's pretty cool, I hadn't even thought about checking with BC. One guy on here actually just cut about an inch of the rear threaded mount at the bottom, and his rears were ridiculous.

^That would be the better thing to do and still keep the preload and shock travel. It'd be nice if that was already done by B&G.

Figured it was about time to post up some pictures of my car. Got B&G coilovers on Valentines Day courtesy of my boyfriend and Autofashion's name your own price special. Had them on the car the next day but wasn't satisfied with the rear. Went back in later in the week and pulled both collars out, maxing out the rear in the process. Total drop ended up being about 3 inches all around. Rolling around on stock wheels for the next month or so until I can get adapters and tires for a set of Advans (until I get something more legit).

That's the plan, the Advans I'm putting on are 5x108 so the adapters I'm ordering are going to have 25 or 30mm spacers too
