Default what exactly does the 36,000 mile warranty cover?

two days after taking the TC home, i notice last night that the fuse panel cover has a broken peg/leg and was not sitting flush with the rest of the plastic trim. i'm talking about the cover over the fuse panel under the dash. my wife called the dealer and they told her its not covered. i'll admit that i have not completely read the entire manual or the other booklets that came with the car, but can somebody tell me what exactly does the 36,000 mile warranty cover?

in scion.com it saids

Basic Coverage:
All components other than normal wear and maintenance items are covered for 36 months/36,000 miles

the panel cover is not a normal wear and maintenance item, so why is it not covered?

Generally things you break are not covered. I understand that you did not mess it up yourself, but it's still nice that the dealer replaced it for you - too hard to prove that it broke itself

Read the waranty inot booklet that is in with your owner's manual. It'll tell you what is and is not covered.
