I talked with my local dealer, as far as they know the 2006 xB model will be similar except they also confirmed the rumor (that they heard it's a possibility) of having curtain airbags. They also confirmed xB would be available through 2007.

Anyway, does anyone have any more rumors or concrete information? Basically I want an xB now but am considering waiting until the 2006 models roll out to order mine. If you have any info, thanks!

I don't have a rumor on changes but I have a rumor on replacement it is gonna be the Porte. I am happy to find out that the xB will be out through 2007!!!! :)

I wouldnt get your hopes up for side air. I really doubt it will happen. As far as changes for 06, I would say next to nothing at all.

The only deffinate change for 06 is a new radio that has a minijack input and an optional iPod hookup.

yea i like the porte, it only has sliding door on the passenger side tho im rpetty sure.
thats pretty awesome tho. a 2 door car having a sliding door.

F*CK no its not a good thing to discontinue it ALREADY!!!!!!

goddamn... the general public would just think its a flop or something.. and then immeadiately think of the "AZTEC" good god, THAT was a horrible design, HAD ALMOST no interest from the public, THEREFORE it got yanked from the production line.

ON the other hand, the xB has been REMARKABLE with sales, as well as the xA.. I think it would be a REALLY stupid 'concept' , if you wanna call it that, to 'discontinue production of the xB in the states..'

HONESTLY, I'd say they just carry on with new models, and start Scion off on the right foot, and keep a product line going... jeez... I don't want Scion to be a 3 car deal, that'd be g*y.

Hahaha, my industrial design professor designed the Aztec when she worked for GM. she says the engineers messed it up, I've seen her drawings, they are okay. We all make fun of her for it though. :wink:

Did you know my father worked on the team which designed the interior/exterior of the Mazda RX-8?

It was an international team, from Japan and the US. They had an 8week session here in the states, and a 12week in Japan.

Man, a year is a long time to wait... i almost went nuts having to wait 3 months for mine (ordered in Jan)

The Porte completely lacks the massive amounts of usable space in the xB - it looks more like an almost valid replacement for the xA rather than xB.

Some of us love our little boxes 'cause they are so amazingly practical - and fun. :)
