Whats up PNW? I will be moving up to Naval Station Kitsap in Washington to be stationed on the USS Stennis. I'm originally from Jacksonville, Florida, and i've never been anywhere outside the southeast. Just wondering what goes on up there. Any tracks to road race? Good shops? Clubs and meets? Any fill in would be appreciated, and I look forward to kickin it with you guys!

Welcome! I came to the PNW from the midwest (Minnesota), and it is so beautiful here! You will love it!

The Scion groups, and car clubs in general, are very active here. It's a really great group of people, and you will always find something fun to do!

Good luck with the move...hope to see you around!

Kinda like said above! There are a bunch of shops and a SCCA does do a bunch of events starting with the "slush run" in like Feb. Welcome to one of the busiest fourms on the site!

awesome thanks a lot guys. yeah i've only seen snow once. i'm used to 100% humidity and temps around 80 degrees at christmas, so this should be a life changing event. i should be getting up there around thanksgiving. i'll post up when the move is complete so i can find out when you guys are meeting up, unless of course it's every friday. how's my turbo gonna do up there in the cold? i've heard the term "cold starts" but never knew what it meant. thanks guys

If you're interested in doing some of the SCCA runs both my husband and I go out every run and throw the tC around. He's a fantastic teacher if you've never done it before and there's always space for a co driver with either of us, however, he's way faster.... for now

Welcome! I'm west of you in Port Angeles, so probably will see you around Bremerton/Silverdale cuz I'll be over there fishing the next couple months...anyways, I'm from SoCal so yeah, it took some time adjusting to the weather. Just keep busy and don't get "S.A.D", the sun will be back soon! rossesfingers:

I never had any issues. I use 5w-40 synthetic or 0w-40 and never had issues warm or cold. My engine actually prefers the cold weather. Just let the turbo warm up before romping on it and it'll be fine. Have fun!
