View Full Version : What exhaust for a tc ar4434 10-25-2008, 10:27 PM What exhuast would you guys say is the best choice. Im looking for one for my 07 tc. Ive heard many and im between three brands. The tananbe concept g, hks high power, or injen ses? Bam727272 10-25-2008, 10:29 PM I have HKS high power and i love it. sounds sick too ar4434 10-25-2008, 10:31 PM its quiet and doesnt have a raspy sound at all? davedavetC 10-25-2008, 10:36 PM tanabe concept g AGTC85 10-25-2008, 11:02 PM i gotta agree with the hks hi power. i have the trd exhaust and i want to get the hks! tCtCtC 10-25-2008, 11:54 PM hks thus far RammsteinNicCage 10-26-2008, 12:28 AM I have a Concept G and love it. Have you listened to clips of exhausts on youtube? Search for tc [brand exhaust] If you have an intake and / or headers or some other custom setup, add those to the search terms also. beedee 10-26-2008, 12:57 AM i love my injen ses. sciontC 10-26-2008, 01:02 AM so far i LOVE my injen ses have had it for a week so far and sounds great even when the engine warms up. Edit: slanted exhausts look like crap imo, go injen or the G. BAMF4Life 10-26-2008, 01:12 AM i have the tanabe concept g and never regreted it. a_german_named_hans 10-26-2008, 01:15 AM HKS. Deep growl. Quite on highway. indyTC 10-26-2008, 02:46 AM no contest, join the hks exhaust club :D pinoyFMtC 10-26-2008, 03:23 AM ^x2 HKS is great. Ace83 10-26-2008, 03:53 AM concept G! RCZDesigns 10-26-2008, 04:13 AM The biggest difference between the Injen SES/Concept G and the HKS hi-power are the fact that at high RPM especially with a header (from my experience) the HKS gets real high pitched and "rice" sounding. The Injen (my exhaust) sounds the best at about 3k but even at 6 it doesn't get real ricey sounding even with my header. Thats just my experience. I love the way the hipower looks but it just doesn't sound good to me. M3BlackTC 10-26-2008, 04:16 AM everyone is going to say their exhaust is the best sounding because they are used to their sound. Go on you tube and do your research. I did mine and i also heard all of them on peoples scion tc's in car shows. The best sounding exhaust is the Skunk2 exhaust. its nice and deep and quiet on the highway plus sounds the best when you turn the car on. YouTube it. XionLion 10-26-2008, 04:24 AM i second the skunk2...honestly sounds the greatest.....the price is an epic failure though .... by the way best way to check it is with youtube ... plus it wouldnt hurt to have a decent surround on your comp to actually feel the bass like rumble from the exhaust Ace83 10-26-2008, 04:25 AM skunk too is nice but i will vote for the concept g still.. I dont own both, just heard them SB08tc 10-26-2008, 06:03 AM When playing the videos on Youtube.com, keep in mind that the set up they have may not be the set up you have. Thus meaning, the sound will or may, vary. There are many different options an individual can chose to go with. There are canisters and many other set ups you can go with. For example, I will be going with a cat-less turbo back Borla 2.5’….. I like Borla cause of its mild deep sound and also for the way it will look on the car. I prefer not to have a big can sticking out of the back of my car. Now at this point in time I have a can but I will be changing that. For me I just want something that isn’t loud but works the best with my set up and sounds good. If it does its job then that’s what I am looking for. Ricers are the ones who want to be loud as hell. Just cause the car is loud that doesn’t make it fast….lol…Just cause the Dog can bark doesn’t mean it has the balls to bite!!!! When the dog gets the ball it doesn’t need to try and sound big and bad, it comes natural. P.S. Ricers repulse me due to their lack of knowledge and ability to properly tune tastefully…..It’s ok I was ignorant once also….lol…..Ricers read and you will learn something…….If you are a ricer and you are reading this your off to a good start by reading in a forum. Sorry for ranting and raving…lol Air2TheThrown 10-26-2008, 06:30 AM I've tried HKS HiPower, Greddy SP2, Tsudo N1, and A'pexi. My vote goes to Greddy SP2. Bam727272 10-26-2008, 07:30 AM the only thing I don't like about my HKS exhaust is how it sounds with headers. I just got DC headers and it sounds ricey, I want to get rid of them already. davedavetC 10-26-2008, 07:49 AM ok well i know i put Concept G up before and that is because my first exhaust was teh HKS Hi-Power, sounded great but got annoying, looked cool at first then it got stupid and you kinda get sick of having an angled exhaust, then i got megan (free) full cat back exhaust, WAY too loud and again ugly angled exhaust. road around with the stock for a while and then go the concept g, and its the best one out of the 3 i have by far Racersky 10-26-2008, 08:16 AM HKS ftw because I'm boosted lol Edit: Only reason why I stuck with HKS because it's quiet out of all the exhaust out there for the tc when in VAC other than that most of the exhaust out there will sound kinda nasty (bad way) because of the aftermarket headers on the 2az motor. cherrycola 10-26-2008, 05:23 PM Greddy Ti-C sounds beastly. dvill23 10-26-2008, 07:08 PM i dont wanna start a whole new thread so im just wondering.... What exhaust do you guys recommend if im running stock automatic and just gonna and a cold air intake AGTC85 10-26-2008, 07:12 PM get an injen cai for sure. then go to youtube and listen to other exhausts. everyone has their own opinion and its your car. listen to the different exhaust on youtube and pick the best sounding one in your opinion LBTC 10-26-2008, 07:20 PM tanabe concept G Tc4Eva 10-26-2008, 07:26 PM Which one do you guys recommend for a s/c'd auto? I need something thats quiet, to keep the cops off my tail.Specially in CA. And yes I looked on youtube, but still cant decide. Bam727272 10-26-2008, 07:34 PM im running an automatic with injen cai and hks exhaust 06TCinCALI 10-27-2008, 02:34 AM shesh!! i must be the only one running Tsudo N1 hahahah but i love my exhaust! :P jsingh 10-27-2008, 02:44 AM i'd go with HKS Hi-Power!! indyTC 10-27-2008, 12:48 PM HKS raspy at high rpm with headers..which one isnt??? I only got it cus i picked it up for 200 shipped :D..Plus planning to run some boost..... Again you can find A LOT of videos on youtube... ar4434 10-27-2008, 12:52 PM I heard the skunk to also, and its so far in great compitition with the g. the hks is nice but to me its alil bit to big of a pipe. Checho 10-27-2008, 12:53 PM Greddy Evo 2 pwns JU!! Scion14 10-27-2008, 01:04 PM Definately HKS.. The best exhaust i have ever had... Deep growl and really quiet when your crusing as someone already stated... jsingh 10-27-2008, 01:34 PM an off topic question but how is the HKS at idle?? GQQSE13 10-27-2008, 01:48 PM i'd say find people with different exhausts and see how they sound in person; because you may get one an then not like it and out of the $. Tc4Eva 10-28-2008, 01:05 AM I think Ill go with the HKS hi power. Prob is I dont know anyone in my area with a modded tc. sp2 10-28-2008, 01:09 AM i love the sound of the HKS for the tc wish my xb2 hks sounded the same ar4434 10-30-2008, 06:42 PM What do you guys think about the injen ses because i actually found a guy whos selling it for about $175? tCtCtC 10-30-2008, 06:48 PM the injen is nice RCZDesigns 10-30-2008, 08:04 PM ar4434 Like I said earlier in this topic, the Injen is a great exhaust. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that it hangs down pretty low where the bend is to go under the rear where the crossmember/suspension is. But i'm on very settled s-techs and it's still a good ways from the ground. I'd say maybe 10 inches or more. Just putting that out there, if your really slammed the injen is one of the crappiest designs where that bend is. ar4434 11-01-2008, 04:49 PM im not slammed. im running on the trd springs im looking more into the hks and the tanabe but the tanabe sticks out to far in my opinion but sounds great. As the trd sounds good but looks like the stock exhaust. sykodelic 11-01-2008, 05:07 PM I still have stock exhaust, but I talked to the crew chief of the rado time attack tc.... he recommended tanabe (1st), then he said HKS is also good... i was undecided between the 2 before i even talked to him, but now i know i want the concept g Tc4Eva 11-01-2008, 10:03 PM Did he say the tanabe was better? tCtCtC 11-01-2008, 10:05 PM there's no reason for that. a axle back exhaust for a tc doesn't give you a noticeable gain either way highvoltage1 11-02-2008, 01:05 AM What are you trying to get out of your exhaust? Just sound? Cause all you have listed are axle-backs. Thats waht those are mainly for unless you get a midpipe and s-pipe. I like the skunk2 for a catback. I havent really looked at the axlebacks as i want a full system. Just figure out what you want with your exhasut and then look at the data. Griever 11-03-2008, 06:10 PM I regret selling my Tanabe Medallion Touring, it was an awesomely quiet exhaust. My SP2 sounds great during normal driving, but when you get on it the exhaust gets real raspy. preston2580 11-03-2008, 07:10 PM magna flow, and hks are good. but you could always go custom and make it sound the way you want it to. i have a custom one it i think it sonds better than the magnaflow or hks highvoltage1 11-03-2008, 10:12 PM You got info or pics on your exhaust preston? Tc4Eva 11-04-2008, 02:13 AM I would do a custom exhaust, but I dont want to spend that kind of cash. highvoltage1 11-04-2008, 02:25 AM They arent as expensive as you would think. Figure out what you want and make some calls. ar4434 12-02-2008, 07:23 PM i went with the injen ses, it sounds great AGTC85 12-02-2008, 07:27 PM nice! pics?? ar4434 12-02-2008, 07:35 PM ima post them in like two wks, i dont got a camera yet. smilezdc 12-02-2008, 07:35 PM i had the injen and now i have a greddy sp2.. hands down sp2 all the way.. quiet yet deep.. u wont be disappointed InfiniteVisi0n 12-02-2008, 07:38 PM Greddy Ti-C Exhaust FTW..im running this on my ride right now without silencer and it sounds great. Quiet when you want it to be but tap the pedal and the growl comes alive. No rasps..only downfall is if you have an five axis rear lip dont get it. It will eat away your lip as it did to mine InfiniteVisi0n 12-02-2008, 07:42 PM http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll142/Infinitevisi0n/DSC05395.jpg this is when I first got the exhaust..now I have a custom heat shield bolted into my lip cause the exhaust sits a little in. beedee 12-02-2008, 10:35 PM click my signature, im selling an injen ses axleback for $200 local pick up or $240 shipped!!! g2autosports 12-02-2008, 11:16 PM I have 1 Tanabe concept G and 1 Tanabe medalion exhaust in stock, if anybody is interested please PM, thank you. These sound great, if you add an aftermarket header thou you'll need to upgrade your resonator. InfiniteVisi0n 12-03-2008, 01:33 AM can you post pictures of the tanabe exhaust on your car from the same angle or similar angle as my picture? SuShIxFiSh 12-03-2008, 01:55 AM HKS FTMFW =D InfiniteVisi0n 12-03-2008, 02:03 AM ^^not really..haha the angle look is alright but never really center correctly so no HKS FTL but im planning on going Ptunning or Dezod in a year or so jonmike06 12-03-2008, 04:40 PM Agency Power Ti/SS Catback Sysetm! FTW!!!! Well I didn't have to spend $700 cuz I got it off my buddy for dirt cheap! Iceman04503 12-05-2008, 07:17 AM Heres my Strup. I like it. It has a nice deep sound but none of that ricey look to it. http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp80/iceman04503/041.jpg jonmike06 12-05-2008, 07:25 AM Here's just a quick pick up my Agency Power Ti/SS Catback Exhaust! http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa137/jonsjdmsciontc/20172.jpg tCtCtC 12-05-2008, 10:09 PM burnt bumper much? jonmike06 12-06-2008, 02:46 AM No I just installed it a couple of days ago and nothing yet! Haha! :lalala: |
