Ihave some questions aobut Premium Head Unit
I have the stock and I think it sucks.
What does the premium cost from the dealer?
If I purchase from them do I have to have them install it?
Will the premium sound better than the stock.
Thanks
Trevor

I just upgraded to the premium head unit, but only because I wanted the rca outputs for an amp for a sub.
Other than the outputs, the premium deck is pretty much the same as the stock one. There are no differences in sound quality.
As far as buying one I would not go to the dealer because it costs 624$ on trdsparks, I got mine off ebay for less than 200 shipped and it's in mint condition.
Though if you do purchase from dealer, than no you will not need them to install it. They would probably charge you another arm and leg, and installing the premium is extremely simple, it's just plug and play. No wires to tap into or splice or anything, just unplug the stock unit and plug in the premium one.
Hope this answers all your questions

The reason I considered the Premium HU is to keep my stering wheel controls and the idod & aux connections. Because if I buy an aftermaket unit It will cost more for those Items to work. I don't think I will pay for the stering wheel controls to work since it would be more money than I want to put into this especially since I am thinking about changing out the speakers and adding a sub & amp.
Here are 2 HU's I am thinking about getting instead of the premium:
Pioneer FH-P8000BT http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=300&i=130P8000BT&tp=5684
Kenwood DPX503 http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=300&i=113DPX503&tp=5684

I would just go with the pioneer premium unit then if you want to keep your steering controls and ipod/aux connections. It really is a good unit, and you can add amps to it nicely. Here is an ebay auction for one for 265$ shipped, though if you keep on eye on ebay you might be able to get one even cheaper.

I don't have to have the steering wheel controls, but would be nice to have. I do want ipod control. The other thing about getting an aftermarket unit is the bluetooth capabilities that both of those units have, which would be really nice since I have a stick and shifting and talking are hard to do.

Ya I see what your saying, I drive stick too. Though I just have a little ear piece I clip onto the sun visor that I use when I have conversations while driving. I guess the decisions just up to you
