i just installed a JVC in dash, and would like to upgrade the stock speakers. i dont plan to install a sub, so im just looking for some good interior speakers. do you guys recommend going for a component system in the front, or just buy some good tweeters and speakers? im lookin for a good amount of bass.. just dont feel like getting a deck AND a sub stolen if someone were to break into my car. thx!

good luck getting any decent bass out of 6.5" speakers. I have pioneer 4 ways in the front and 3 ways in the back as well as a pioneer 8" shallow subwoofer under the passenger seat. I love it, no space lost in the trunk, and the sound is great!

i notice ur from sac.. where did you get the sub under the seat? custom madE?

Nope, just the pioneer shallow 8 box. I waited about 3 months for a cheap one to show up on ebay, then I finally broke down and just bought it

Doesn't get nearly as loud as the 12" I had in the trunk, but i sure love the trunk space!

got pics of ur setup? do you run an external amp to this sub, or is it powered?

components up front. leave the rear stock. swapping the rear speakers doesn't do much at all.

to set up the components, i would have to mount the crossover inside the door panel? any you guys have pics of ur setups show em now!

I have just a 400W alpine under the rear seat for power.
I got it installed Friday night (USP delivered the box at 9:20PM), went on a road trip, and haven't had a chance to take any pics yet, but I'm planning on it

I am running the Rockford Fosgate M282 in the front doors. Just takes a little cutting and moding and there you go. Lots of mid bass for sure. There is a couple write ups on here about it.
