Wonderhut 12-24-2004, 12:30 AM Holy COW!
ALMOST 300HP!
Great work guys! :)
tCtunerZ 12-24-2004, 12:40 AM We will have Stage I, II and II kits for sale in 4-6 weeks. Pricing will be on our site in 1-2 weeks with details for each kit.
Gmoney 12-24-2004, 12:45 AM 1-2 weeks............damn talk about teasing people! not even a ball park figure...............also are these on stock internals?
hal9000 12-24-2004, 12:57 AM just wondering how well this engine will handle 10 as opposed to 7 in terms of long term stress on the engine because the #'s for 7 aren't bad..but if the difference between the two isn't much harder on the engine then might as well go for the 10.
showpaojoe 12-24-2004, 01:28 AM Congrats man...I dunno why these idiots aren't letting you be the next FEATURED RIDE.

So far so good no problems or check engine lights.

2000 miles the car is a daily driver @ 10psi on stock internals.
squirrel 12-24-2004, 07:00 AM Just playing the devil's advocate here. How come the car isn't listed on the print out? The dyno sheets I'm used to seeing have it listed on the sheet.

somethin smells a lil fishy here...haha
show us some videos and maybe some pics? that dyno looks like a drawing or a rendering...

The Stage 1 has around 220HP and 5PSI
hal9000 12-24-2004, 07:44 PM great news so far...should be an interesting next couple of months.
tCtunerZ 12-24-2004, 08:32 PM good thread about the tC vs. sti
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=294639
its the post by; FknFastSm3
Gmoney 12-24-2004, 10:21 PM was this from a dig.......was the sti moddified? if not....the sti only puts down close to 240 hp and roughly the same tq........awd is nice but robs alot of power.......but nice........now with the pricing.....!
im guessing pricing will be........$3000 stage 1, $4000 stage 2, $5000 stage 3...........thats my estimate.
Tenaj 12-24-2004, 10:33 PM so thats the stage 3 turbo then right? um yeah with me being new to turbos, whats the difference in the 'stages'? obviously stage 1 will make less hp/tq than a stage 3 and Im guessing thats because the PSI is lower (also less engine wear with a lower stage correct?) So how much of a difference is the wear-n-tear going to be between 7 psi and 10 psi? And what defines 'stages'? sorry if I sound retarded, but I kinda am...
edit nvm, the first pic didnt load the first time so now I see it says, 'stage 3'
tmoth 12-24-2004, 11:14 PM im guessing pricing will be........$3000 stage 1, $4000 stage 2, $5000 stage 3...........thats my estimate.
Im hoping it will be less...
Gmoney 12-25-2004, 12:02 AM im hopeing the same thing.........
ScionTCTrav 12-25-2004, 12:15 AM Me 2
R3DLIN3_WHIT3 12-25-2004, 01:54 AM can someone copy and paste the sti vs tc write up
i dont really want to sign up
Gmoney 12-25-2004, 02:51 AM all it said was this guy in a sti raced the tC and the tC held its own until 130 mph then the sti started pulling. no big deal. next.
PunkInDrublic 12-25-2004, 02:54 AM What did the tC have? I assume a turbo, but how much boost and how much hp.
JT_Scion 12-25-2004, 04:16 AM I wouldn't think the STi would pull after 130.. they arent faster top end, they are mostly low to mid range.. my buddy's s2000 pulls my friends STi top end, but from a stop the STi gets out in front too fast. (both stock) AWD starts robbing alot of power. But assuming the STi was modded its possible.
Tcguy 12-25-2004, 04:54 AM It'll pull a lot faster than the tC at speeds over 130, the tC has a speed limiter haha...
FIracing 12-25-2004, 08:24 AM Nice! I hope to have our turbo kit up and running soon. :) Are there any pics of your car with the turbo setup on it?
reign 12-25-2004, 05:41 PM somethin smells a lil fishy here...haha

Video from Scionspeed.com (http://www.scionspeed.com/TCturbovid.mpg)
Doesn't really show dyno numbers but it's still pretty rad - Sounds nice!
datrickster24 12-25-2004, 08:10 PM my friend said that u can change the boost level on a turbo from like 7-10..7 for daily showoff driving and 10 if ur gonna race some1 ..i wuz wondering if thats how these turboes are gonna be like if i get the stage 3 then i can lower the psi on it w/ a knob or something.... (i am kinda a noobie but learning)...any info would help thanx

Absolutely. There's usually some kind of boost controller - either electronic or manual. What they do is limit the amount of boost pressure the wastegate sees. If a wastegate opens at 7psi, and you set the controller to 10 - When the turbo's pushing 10psi the wastegate sees 7 and then opens, stopping the turbo from boosting anymore.
Also, for a stage III kit, I'm sure they've got something. Listed in the mods on the prototype car is a "Turbo Smart e-Boost boost management system" so I'm sure it's gonna have something. If not, you can pick up a boost controller for like $80.
On my friend's civic we turboed you you just have to adjust the arm on the wastegate (it's an internal wastegate)
Tenaj 12-25-2004, 08:46 PM at first I thought it was the tctunerz car... but its that one from scionspeed that was at the florida car show, ok got it, and VERY NICE. ok well thanks for ruining my bank account guys, I now have to find about 5k somewhere...... damnit
aarontrini85 12-26-2004, 05:12 PM about half way through the video when they show it go from a dead stop to 130 it goes fast as hell even though he is bouncing off the rev limeter for about 5 sec. i want boost
SlapNuts 12-26-2004, 06:39 PM Wonder what the quarter mile times will look like with the stage III.
JT_Scion 12-26-2004, 07:04 PM Well if the speed cut is at 130, that explains why the STi pulled on it from there on haha.. our gauge cluster only goes up to 140, i wonder how much gearing we have left to pull in 5th gear if we got rid of the speed cut before we ran out of rpm's... hmmm not that i will ever go that fast haha

An upgraded clutch would make both a nice combo.
PSyCHo-RaGe 12-26-2004, 09:45 PM Oh Oh, bad news people, look who posted this information on another forum....

When I topped my car out at 130 I think I was at about 5800rpm - so there's still a little bit of play there :) Especially if you could bump the rev limiter up to like 7000 or 7500 (with supporting mods of course)

he said it is bad news because he posted as quick on club lexus. most people know about quick and his scandals from the past. it looks as if he was warning other members about him.
dmitri 01-06-2005, 04:39 PM Greddy E-Manage and VVT-i.. Where's Don King? :)
reign 01-06-2005, 10:21 PM They just upped the boost to 12psi - 327hp to the wheels :) And then the clutch couldn't hold the power anymore
This is the kit I'm getting :D

apexjr 01-07-2005, 12:47 AM Can you believe the strength of this engine? I didn't like how slowly the boost came on, but that could be a product of a turbo that is capable of much more then needed.
