just wondering how well this engine will handle 10 as opposed to 7 in terms of long term stress on the engine because the #'s for 7 aren't bad..but if the difference between the two isn't much harder on the engine then might as well go for the 10.

2000 miles the car is a daily driver @ 10psi on stock internals.

Yup Stage 2 Right here baby..250HP at the Flywheel and 8PSI..

The Stage 1 has around 220HP and 5PSI

was this from a dig.......was the sti moddified? if not....the sti only puts down close to 240 hp and roughly the same tq........awd is nice but robs alot of power.......but nice........now with the pricing.....!

so thats the stage 3 turbo then right? um yeah with me being new to turbos, whats the difference in the 'stages'? obviously stage 1 will make less hp/tq than a stage 3 and Im guessing thats because the PSI is lower (also less engine wear with a lower stage correct?) So how much of a difference is the wear-n-tear going to be between 7 psi and 10 psi? And what defines 'stages'? sorry if I sound retarded, but I kinda am...

all it said was this guy in a sti raced the tC and the tC held its own until 130 mph then the sti started pulling. no big deal. next.

What did the tC have? I assume a turbo, but how much boost and how much hp.

I wouldn't think the STi would pull after 130.. they arent faster top end, they are mostly low to mid range.. my buddy's s2000 pulls my friends STi top end, but from a stop the STi gets out in front too fast. (both stock) AWD starts robbing alot of power. But assuming the STi was modded its possible.

It'll pull a lot faster than the tC at speeds over 130, the tC has a speed limiter haha...

my friend said that u can change the boost level on a turbo from like 7-10..7 for daily showoff driving and 10 if ur gonna race some1 ..i wuz wondering if thats how these turboes are gonna be like if i get the stage 3 then i can lower the psi on it w/ a knob or something.... (i am kinda a noobie but learning)...any info would help thanx

Absolutely. There's usually some kind of boost controller - either electronic or manual. What they do is limit the amount of boost pressure the wastegate sees. If a wastegate opens at 7psi, and you set the controller to 10 - When the turbo's pushing 10psi the wastegate sees 7 and then opens, stopping the turbo from boosting anymore.

Also, for a stage III kit, I'm sure they've got something. Listed in the mods on the prototype car is a "Turbo Smart e-Boost boost management system" so I'm sure it's gonna have something. If not, you can pick up a boost controller for like $80.

On my friend's civic we turboed you you just have to adjust the arm on the wastegate (it's an internal wastegate)

at first I thought it was the tctunerz car... but its that one from scionspeed that was at the florida car show, ok got it, and VERY NICE. ok well thanks for ruining my bank account guys, I now have to find about 5k somewhere...... damnit :lol:

about half way through the video when they show it go from a dead stop to 130 it goes fast as hell even though he is bouncing off the rev limeter for about 5 sec. i want boost

When I topped my car out at 130 I think I was at about 5800rpm - so there's still a little bit of play there :) Especially if you could bump the rev limiter up to like 7000 or 7500 (with supporting mods of course)

They just upped the boost to 12psi - 327hp to the wheels :) And then the clutch couldn't hold the power anymore

Can you believe the strength of this engine? I didn't like how slowly the boost came on, but that could be a product of a turbo that is capable of much more then needed.
