Rear Gate/Hatch won't fully close and latch
Hi,
Something happened recently where when I close the rear gate/hatch (what's the proper term?), the latch does not fully engage and is only partially clasped.
Before this recent change, I was very pleased with closure of the gate/hatch and the way the gate/hatch would appear to be drawn closed when the initially shut.
Now, with the car locks in "unlocked" and when pulling the gate/hatch open, I find that there is a mechanical drag/interference of the latching mechanism. The gate/hatch being drawing closed has also disappeared.
The result is that the gate/hatch rattles in this partially latched condition when I am driving, and it is driving me "crazy".
What is the fix?
Thank you.

have ya looked at the latch to see if anything is loose? in the trunk its that u shaped part the other stuff is behind the panel ...open your hatch pop the panel off and check there to see if sonething is loose...if everything is tight close your hatch with you inside the trunk and see what is going on as it closes...maybe not allighned right ..
Stupid question, but I have to ask:
you looked to make sure the floormat didn't slide down and push outward on the door?
sorry to be the one to ask the "IS IT PLUGGED IN?" question, but it's worth a look
good luck!
