I saw in another post a metal plate that was helping to evenly distribute electrical current. Looked like it had a couple of braided wires coming off of it. Had something to do with the spark plugs. Not sure what is was and cant remember exactly was is was meant for.

Any ideas on what I am talking about. Just curious.

I have seen those on the heads of race engines, mostly stock cars, and that is exactly what they do: distribute and manage current; it's usually done because race plugs run on a higher amperage and therefore get hotter.

Do you know where they got it, why and how much?

Not sure. that's why I'm asking. Wanted to know the name of it so I could look it up myself.

We have a winner!!! Thats it, was wondering what it was for. Thanks for the help.

Now for the grand prize. What exactly do you gain by adding one of these to your vehicle?

That is pretty much it. There is nothing I have seen from an electrical standpoint on that product that can possibly do one thing to distribute current, amplify anything, etc.

Not to mention there is no need to distribute anything. It is a coil on plug setup. It is also a very well designed setup. The ignition system is the last thing you need to worry about modding on this car.

This must be a complete joke to spend a hundred dollars or more on a part like this! If you really want to see if your car would benefit from a grounding kit you should just make one yourself. Just go to a Home Depot or wherever and purchase 3 to 4 feet of wire and some connectors . Do not make the mistake of purchasing a wire that is too thick as it will look ridiculous and work the same as a smaller wire.

Use the money to buy something more useful like....?

flowers for you mom.

Okay this product states it "Amplifies the current being delivered to the ignition coil pack by stabilizing the current frequency" but cars run on DC power. and DC doesn't have a frequency, it's either on or off. AC power has frequency because the power creates a wave as it moves from positive to negitive. DC doesn't make a wave, so to make a claim that it stabilizes a frequency that doesn't exist is impossible...

The instructions -started out- fine, and then I found that not only did it call for things I couldn't do, but called for me to put on parts I didn't have, and it didn't look like anything was missing from the box. The appearance is about as good as you can get from an ignition equalizer, though. Unless I'm mistaken as to how to install this, this is about as worthless as putting a paperweight in your engine.

where did this come from you ask? SL PARTS SECTION!
