View Full Version : scion tc rs 4.0 fog lights? ariese 11-09-2008, 02:08 AM i have a scion tc rs 4.0 n i just got a set of vrd fog lights n not really thinking. i dont think theirs any way of installing them but if someone has any advice let me know ariese 11-09-2008, 02:16 AM anybody know anything about this or not? tCtCtC 11-09-2008, 02:22 AM fail. have you even LOOKED at the front lip? the side panels are just black. they dont go all the way through ariese 11-09-2008, 02:39 AM there is a way to install SOME type of fog lights on the rs 4.0. i have seen it on several already. tCtCtC 11-09-2008, 02:47 AM your only options are oem and if you can fab a universal one ariese 11-09-2008, 03:02 AM so your saying cutting into the bumper to make the fog lights fix would prolly be a bad idea a_german_named_hans 11-09-2008, 03:11 AM wow fail on so many levels. you might be able to dremel your lip kit to fit the foglights if you really wanted to. Idk what the lip kit looks like. Never really checked out an RS4 lip kit. ihavenosn 11-09-2008, 03:11 AM Just sell them and buy the OEM ones. Should have done your research before you bought them. Good luck with your venture :) tCtCtC 11-09-2008, 03:13 AM so your saying cutting into the bumper to make the fog lights fix would prolly be a bad idea DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT PUTTING A HOLE INTO THE LIP andrewStC 11-09-2008, 03:16 AM wow.. :loser: scionkidd 11-09-2008, 03:24 AM Damn all the hate in this thread... the dude said he was not thinking when he got them... so stop all the bashing. he made a mistake and im sure he realized it. to the original poster... just sell the VRD's and buy the OEM ones- they come assembled in a grill. that 'grill' will replace your existing bottom grill. so no cutting or anything. :) tC_insomniac 11-09-2008, 03:24 AM is this really happening right now  ariese 11-09-2008, 03:27 AM neone wanna buy some vrd fog lights for 70 then tCtCtC 11-09-2008, 03:30 AM if i didnt have vrd's yet i would scionkidd 11-09-2008, 03:41 AM if i didnt have vrd's yet i would X2 and my other tC has a kamanari kit. toeveryhour 11-09-2008, 03:45 AM wow, yeah it's a bad idea to cut into the RS lip man. that kills the value right there and those lips aren't cheap either. crg5990 11-09-2008, 04:03 AM neone wanna buy some vrd fog lights for 70 then yes yes yes i do!!! weeloTC 11-09-2008, 09:45 PM i want the grill from the rs 4.0....hint hint, good luck with a new set of fogs, just stick with the oem ones if you must have a set, they dont look all that bad SATownScion 11-10-2008, 01:38 AM well i have an rs4 with oem fog lights. i like the look of vrd fogs but i knew they wernt going to fit. i also played around with the idea of drilling them out so that more 'cooler' air could reach the filter. but "I" never went through with it. on a 500 mile drive on a 2 lane highway, i was stuck behind two huge trucks. i wanted to pass them as so did about 8 cars behind me since they were going pretty slow, the speed limit as a matter of fact. well, one of them runs over some tree limbs that were in the middle of the road for some reason and then the second one runs over it as well and kicks some up in the air. i just see this big stick heading right towards me. i had no where to go since i had on coming traffic and no break down lane. plus i had 8 cars behind me riding my bumper. all i hear is a bid thump and i knew i had body damage. i finally went around the two trucks and drove another 80 miles to the next town. while sitting in a parking lot, this guy parks in front of me and looks at my bumper and then looks at me. he looks at my bumper again and then looks at me again and points to it. so i go out there and sure enough, on the passenger side fake fog light hole is a 1 inch diameter 10 inch long branch that has made a hole and got stuck. i pulled it out and saw that the damage was done. i couldnt believe that i was driving for so long and it didnt fall off. so now im back to the same decision, go ahead and drill them out and fab up a grill for them since i already have a hole in one of them or just leave one with a hole. cant really see the hole since it is so low now that i have hotchkis springs and its a dark paint job. ExpresScion 11-10-2008, 02:22 AM ^^How do you not get pulled over with blue and red lights in your grills? More importantly, why did you do that in the first place? SATownScion 11-10-2008, 12:10 PM well, i dont get pulled over for having red and blues since i dont turn them on when im driving like an idiot. those are red/blue strobe lights with very similar flash patterns of a police cruiser. only the blue leds in my headlights stay on and that is not illegal. i only turn them on at meets and shows as an attention grabber. my bro is a sheriff and he wants to use his personal truck on side jobs so that means he needs strobes. he doesnt deal with electrical and i do so we went half & half on a set to test them out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOWqGwsXZcM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZKEQMr2zYI BlckdOutTC 11-10-2008, 08:27 PM driving with blue lights in the headlights is illegal SATownScion 11-10-2008, 09:24 PM maybe for you but not for me BlckdOutTC 11-10-2008, 09:26 PM why not for you SATownScion 11-10-2008, 11:02 PM each state is different and even from city to city the laws are different. you have to read your state statutes to see which colors are not allowed. here in tx it states that i can not have red blue or white flashing, alternating or beacons. so having a steady blue light on is ok BlckdOutTC 11-10-2008, 11:24 PM ahh i see, a friend of mine got a ticket for red parking lights and the officer said no blue or red in the lights, not sure about flashing or anything though |
