Default Bigger intercoolahh

yeahahhhhhhhhhhh im looking for a bigger intercooler that will fit with almost any IC piping. Mainly something like dezods piping or something.
Whats a good size i can go with without cutting a lot to make it fit? I want bigger than the ones that already come with most turbo kits. Something that will give me a nice power upgrade once i go turbo. I looked around but couldnt really find much/
Any suggestions?

If you want Quality and a custom application for an intercooler. I'd suggest Griffin Radiators. They are of the highest quality. I've had them build me 2 units for custom applications for the tC. they are more pricey then most, but this is a case of "Getting what you pay for". www.griffinrad.com

I think a big intercooler on our car can be pointless....i have the Dezod FMIC and i love it, its extremely deep, and fits flush in our cars, and when your moving every millimeter on the intercooler is getting air, cutting the crash bar & a big intercooler not for us unless you got a gt35r at 19 psi w/ fully built motor then hey i cant say anything.

^^I disagree. A big intercooler to take up the whole bottom of the grill is sexier. Of course I would prefer to modify the bumper to introduce more airflow to the core. But I'm not into the pee-wee intercooler look.

to each his own but i dont think the dezod front mount looks pee wee, its fills up my entire lower bumper, you cant even see the couplers on the front mount,

.....u do see couplers in the fog ligh cubbies tho lol but thats butchered bumper FTW

Thats pretty much the same way im thinking. lol I just want something that will take up the entire lower grill without compensating for some of the intercooler. I dont want some of it to go to wasteeee. So pretty much the perfect fit.
But do you guys think its worth it to do that? Do you think il get a noticeable return in power?

You'll encounter more lag and lose more boost with a larger, less efficient intercooler. Bigger=/=more power.

Quite true.

I'd say small turbo, small intercooler.

Big turbo Big intercooler.

But you can always mix and match =D

I'll take a little lag and a loss in boost with a drop in air temps, any day of the week though ^^

Yes and no. I'm all for and only for efficiency. Function over Form. Besides, you can't even see my tiny intercooler, sleeper ftw.

Alllrighty so i guess normal size intercooler it will be.
Since were on the topic of turbos so i dont have to post this question on a different thread, i have another question.
Im making a custom kit that wont be too much different from a dezod kit or anything else. And i don't know what turbo to go with. I know some about turbos but not enough to make a experienced decision. So thats why im turning to you guys. Ive done some research but honestly i don't really know. soooooooo what would be the best turbo to go with? I'm guessing just a T3/T4 right?

The best option is to look at some turbo maps. Since all that work has pretty much been accomplished, your best bet is to stick with a turbo that is commonly used, aka T3/T4. The turbo I have is probably the most basic it gets for the tC, a Garrett T3/T4 57 trim .63A/R Comp. You could look into the GT series turbos, but they get expensive and aren't very efficient at low boost (matches a T3/T4, but they really shine in the upper teens/lower 20s).

I want to say this is the exact turbo I have, but I'm not 100% sure.

http://www.bahnbrenner.com/vw_audi/p...4_Hybrid_Turbo

The compressor has the same specs, but I'm not sure if it's the same turbine...looks like it is.

Yeah im not looking for something too crazy just something that i know will be efficient since basically almost everyone is running the T3/T4 setup. But i know theres different sizes or versions of the T3/T4 turbo, what would i go with? And what if i stepped it up a little to a 50 trim or something. I know i would get more lag and stuff but would it hurt my turbo kit reliability for daily driving? Or do do that would i need to run some enternal work to be safe?
Thanks for your help carbonxe
