How much did you pay for your 2nd Gen XB?
We all know that Scion offers pure pricing, but not always.....some dealers charge over MSRP, some charge less. Let's help potential buyers to figure out how much they should expect to pay for new Scion XB. Please indicate the following:
1. Auto or Manual
2. Stock or with options
3. State
4. "Pure" price before taxes and fees
5. Out of the door price

okay, you are wrong, dealerships cannot, i repeat, CANNOT well new scions above MSRP. if they do, it violates the agreement with scion corp, and they could lose their right to sell that marque. they can offer discounts on MSRP with approval of scion, like model year closeouts, and they can also offer incentives like the old scion boost program, but that is about it. if you paid more than MSRP for a brand new scion with no options, your a chump, and that dealership should be reported to scion corporate.
1. Auto
2. stock
3. VA
4. 17K something
5. 18K something (we got an extended warranty)
50 bucks upcharged for 09 vs 08. After asking for freebies, got extra on my trade since had ext warranty, said they pay out unused part.

It's got the upgraded audio system - me wonders if this was one of their rental cars and is actually in their used car department - I don't see mileage listed anywhere, but that doesn't mean anything. I don't see any leather or any good add ons that would up this to 22k+. If you buy a used Scion from Used Sales, you have to watch how much they're selling it for - they'll sell a slightly used xB2 for well over what you'd buy new, hoping the sucker won't notice those brand new ones over there that they could add the same options on for waaaaayyyy less.
1. Auto
2. Stock
3. Purchased in MD
4. $16,400 (invoice, April 200
5. $16.421 ($21 for 60-day temp MD tags).
When I got home I had to pay $1189 state sales tax and $78 for tags. Buying out of state saved me about $1000.

I think there needs to be come clarification on the whole pure pricing…
As you know, the price you see if the price you pay. No haggle. No hassle.
The price you pay for the product and services offered equals the dealership's posted and advertised price.
All dealerships are independently owned and operated. Therefore dealers are free to set their own prices.
What that means: everyone who buys say an xB at a particular dealer will pay the same price. Prices will and do vary from dealer to dealer.
This is why you all are not paying the same prices for everything.

My local dealer had the limited edition xb with a hand written sticker with marker of the price. I shyed away from that as it wasnt "sticker" like the rest of the lot.

Taken straight from scion.com. The last line says it all.
"Our goal from the start was to change the conventions of the auto industry. We set out to create an affordable, unique and sophisticated vehicle. We wanted to create a new environment for people to purchase a car in - the kind of place where you're not sold a car, but rather where you would go to buy a car. Simple, Straightforward and convenient - that's Pure Price™. Here's how it's done: Scion's Pure Price™ purchase experience means no haggle, no hassle. The price you pay for all products and services offered equals the dealership's posted and advertised price. Price menus are clearly posted in the dealership showroom for all products and services. Dealers are free to set their own prices."
Pure price is smoke and mirrors folks. Dealers can feel free to sell a car above or below MSRP.

dealers can set their own products and service prices, as well as processing fees. but they can't sell you a car for more then the msrp.
they can post higher prices, such as my dealership which has a value price that includes lifetime dealer services like there: http://www.fitzmall.com/fitzway/carfind/resultsa.asp

Drax, I would really like to see where that is written. I agree that they aren't going to change the actual Scion window sticker MSRP and put their own price in, but I've also seen plenty of cars, Scions included, that have that little decal next to the window sticker that has the add ons. Sometimes it just says dealer markup, or regional market value, or whatever. But it's increasing the price of the car.
Again, it's smoke and mirrors. It's lawyer semantics. Are they changing the MSRP of the car, no. Can they charge more for the car, Yes.
By the way, your dealership has some good prices on xBs. I wish I bought there.
