View Full Version : High Class company

Apparently some of the design on our boxes keeps some pretty high class company. I took the summer wheels off the other day and put on the steel wheel/snow tire combo along with the OEM wheel covers. That evening I met some buddies for dinner in one of the tonier neighborhoods and when we were leaving we stopped to look in the window of the Rolls Royce/Lotus dealership next to the restaurant. My xB was parked across the street and it dawned on me looking at the Rolls Phantom on the showroom floor that the wheels on the Rolls and the the covers on the Box were almost EXACTLY the same except that the center of the middle circle on the Rolls Royce was painted brown and the wheels were somewhat larger - but the design was the same!

If you truly believe that the Phantom has ANYTHING in common with an xB you really need to quit smoking crack.

Yeah, why don't you get the Phantoms fur floor mats to put in your xB. They probably only go for about $5k. LOL.

Boy, you guys must have no sense of humor/irony/... whatever. I didn't realize how serious we take everything here. You guys act like 80 year old Scion curmudgeons. :loser:

Sorry

I try to add a little lighthearted fluff, just something of MINOR interest, that I happened to notice, i.e., that the wheel covers on a $120,000 + ultra luxury automobile are unbelievably similar to our $14,000 econoboxes. (humor/irony, however small) I NEVER said they were designed by the same person or department or they were copies or whatever. If you saw it in person it would JUMP out at you. Obviously, since I didn't post a pic of my OEM covers, at least one person, if not two, noticed the similarity just by looking at the RR pic. (I tried to find a better pic of the Rolls wheels in the first post, but that's the best I could do.)

So, that's all. Nothing earth shattering like a heretofore unknown JDM emblem or someone keying my door or whether a set of snowboards adds or detracts from the drag co-efficient depending on whether they are turned right-side-up or up-side-down.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to put out the crack fire in my fur carpet.
