I tried searching around and found nothing.

I have a 2008 scion TC manual with about 45k on the motor. Bought it brand new last september. The scion has trd exhaust and aftermarket air intake. Last year i had blown a valve and got it fixed but still seemed to have a few issues with power. Then about 2 months ago i had yet another valve issue which i got all the valves replaced..(and the dealer had the car for about 5 weeks) So i got it back about 3 weeks ago and on monday i was driving on the highway and hear a sound comming from the intake that kinda sounded like paper hitting a fan... a high raspy noise.. so i pulled over and tried to see what it was and found nothing. Finally got to where i was going and when i hit the gas... the car started bogging out completely. It was losing power and i have no idea why. So i brought it to my friends work and he was scratching his head too. So i left and not even 10 mins from his work... the car completely died. I had trouble starting it and on like the fourth try it finally kicked over.. I couldnt let the car idle what so ever cause it would just stall out. Then it started bucking like crazy (like when someone drives a standard and theyre about to stall it and the car starts jumping) i cant put the rpms over like 1500 or the car just dies out. Only thing i saw was a little oil in the intake... I have no idea what is wrong with the car... I don't even know where to begin. Anyone have any thoughts about what it could be or anything i could try to see whats going on? I already put the stock intake back on and it didnt do anything.... just made the noise not as loud. I cant even keep it running. Had to push it into a parking spot and it pretty much will not move.

HELP!

Are you vac lines connected? The throttle body vac and the intake manifold vac? Make sure they're both connected to the valve cover + wherever they end. Bad vacs = bogging and stalling.

if it wasn't caused by intake shavings, than you migh be able to file a lemon law claim.

Yeah make sure what it is. Are there oil vapors on the inside of your intake? Or actual oil oil lol.

you'll have to put that intake back to stock before you try and lemon law it. they can very easily blame it for your cars failure.

Did you run through water an suck in the intake . Oil in intake sounds like broken piston and ring Check compression

doesn't the car have codes it throws for when the throttle body sticks?

what was causing you to have these valve problems you speak of? Are you telling me you bent 2 sets of valves in 45K miles of driving....

How hard do you drive this car?

Get it towed to a dealer or check the codes and diaganose from there..If your car is having problems running its goign to throw some kind of code

already checked. my brother has the diagnostic reader... theres NO codes... the car is just junk.. and i miss shifted on the highway and blew the vavle and the dealer cant seem to fix it right.

we ripped apart the engine and the throttle body wasnt opening all the way and we're thinkin thats it  why wouldn't you take it to the dealer before doing that  :gun:

Yea if I had an 08 with 45k on it id be at the dealer. And maybe the "miss" shift did more damage than you think. You are still within the 5yr 60k range for the drive train. And I'm going to question your mechanical aptitude due to you stating you ripped apart the engine to get to the throttle body. You should have been able to see it when you put your intake on. Unless someone else did that for you. Good luck getting it fixed/ keep us posted.
