Default i need everyone's opinion about ray's lugs

i am about to purchase the work emotion cr-kai wheels. i was wondering if i should get the short lugs or long lugs. i want them to sit somewhat flush with the wheel, but i don't want to go scraping the wheel every time i take off my wheels (i use an air gun). can anyone shed some light on my situation? wheels aren't exactly my specialty

please no air gun to get them off....it is gonna tear up the finish and will strip the sides over time. How deep is every lug hole in the wheel.pretty sure Rays lugs give the measurments in length on the site for the short and longs.

If you plan on beating them on and off with an impact gun, you don't need rays lugs. Get some crappy tuner lugs like I did so you don't have to worry about scratching them.

The lugs would look clean with those wheels though. Get them, and take them off the old fashion way. I'd try slipping a thin cloth in the socket too to take another precaution as to not messing up the lugs

i agree with everyone else...if an air gun is gonna be used to take them on and off...don't waste your money...they're too expensive and pretty to f up like that. as for the length...it's for looks and style anyway imo

You are NEVER ever suppose to use a Air Torque Gun on lugs anywayz...Always Hand spin them Off & ON...then use a Torque Wrench to Properly tighten them down to the corrst specs.

They have torque sticks for air guns which has a preset load on it when you torque the wheels to not over-torque the wheel.

ziploc bag + torque wrench, or tire star if you're on a budget like me.

Torque sticks and a air gun are still a bad way to put on lugs.just do them by hand and be happy with how nice they look for years to come.

I used to work at Sears in the auto center and we used torque sticks all the time... its no big deal on regular ugly lugs, always got the job done and I personally never had any call backs on them loosening or never broken any studs.

I put on my "tuner" lugs with a regular socket, my normal wheel key, and a torque wrench from sears that was like 40 bucks.

Then I returned the socket and torque wrench for a full no questions asked refund. I'll buy the two again when I need them. I got to share a garage with people so I don't bother buying tools just in case they go missing. Just an idea for the OP if he's on a budget.
