Default help me fix this!

hey guys.. i need some help diagnosing a squeek coming from my exhaust system.. heres the situation..

im currently running a megan spipe and midpipe with a greddy sp2 (this combo sounds freaking amazing by the way).. anyways.. i guess this combo didnt fit right so the flange that connects the 2 pieces of the midpipe was rubbing against the exhaust brace causing a serious rattle.. my solution was to just remove the brace.. i have a couple of of friends who have removed the brace on their cars and assured me it was all good and gravy..

well.. lately ive been hearing a squeeking noise when accelerating coming from what i believe is the spring bolts connected either the header to spipe or spipe to mid pipe.. but i am not sure.. when installing, i torqued the spring bolts to spec. according to all data, but i fear that the missing brace is causing the exhaust to swing or move around a bit too much...

as a side issue, after hte installation of the spipe, my exhaust doesnt really sit properly on the car causing it to rub against the rear sway.. which made me get slightly bigger hangers, but now the exhaust sits too low and looks horrible..

ok.. i know thats a lot to take in, but anyone have any input on these issues?

does your s-pipe have the flanges welded solid? I have a ZPI racing and the flange that connects to the manifold on mine can rotate to adjust how it sits.

I would get under the car and move the system around and see if you can locate it that way first. As far as the second...new hangers get it up of the ground! I know w/ the 1st gen MMW header, it hits the front and just has to "conform" to where it is at...

I have a 2nd gen MMW and there was a Tab that rubbed, I simply cut it off. BUT I still have had problems with the exhuast hitting in the rear, and then changing that causes somthing else to hit..

Have a friend help, use jack stands to hold in place and mock up before any changes.

I have a problem where now I think my exhuast is pulling down on my s-pipe and causing the cel to hit the stearing rack.

I am going to try and make a new hanger or change the CEL

If you want it to be simple easy, go to a shop. I personally think its worth it, in the end, to try it your self and learn from experience.

I would say, loosen everything and start adjusting to see whats causing it. I spent this past weekend basically removing everything and adjusting and adjusting and so on. Took me a bit, I ended up cutting half my mid pipe and making a new section.

In the end. Its all fixed.

Just make sure you have a full free weekend and friends to help.

Good Luck
