looks good if you dont care about sound quality. Otherwise I say junk due to sound cancellation. Just my .02

I'd like to hear what you have to say. Is it this enclosure specifically or any side-firing enclosure? My small but mighty 8" sub is under the passenger seat and I think it helps sound quality as far as "subwoofer imaging" is concerned (does that make sense?). I can't ride in the back seat of cars with subs in the back. It usually sounds glorious up front but really bass-heavy in the back. But I digress. What's the issue with cancellation you see here? Will there be reflected waves bouncing of the left side of the car coming back to cancel out some of the sound? If so, would a bass trap work on the other side like you would see in a recording/sound studio?

BTW I remember when this ebay seller released this about a year ago. I was communicating with him for a while about setting a price. I think he lowered the price to $199 after that. He offered to sell me one for an even better price but I did not take it as I was not 100% sold on the design. I think he's redesigned it a bit to accommodate that grill. The price is much higher now too. Maybe he's determined that this is the proper market value?

yeah, i remember seeing this when it was way cheaper, too. i'm not happy with the loss of floor space in the rear, but don't want to have a weak sounding sub either. i know one thing, i won't be paying that much to find out if it works well!!

I got a friend in the stereo business, he said it should sound fine with one 10. JL is making one for the same location with a 12 . Was the old box on E-bay made out of MDF? This one is fiberglass. I had a JL stealthbox under the rear seat of a 97 F-150 Supercab and it sounded pretty good.

What other option do we have? I don't want a sub box underneath the front passenger seat, it will take up some leg room for the rear seat passengrs. I prefer either under the rear seat or in the back. Just my opinion.

I do want a clean system. I don't have to have perfect because I don't plan on entering any sound competition events.

Maybe a sub box under the rear seat with two 10's is the way to go for me.

no, it was made out of fiberglass also. i'm not sure what you're talking about with a sub or 2 under the rear seat???? there is NO room under there for a normal size amp, let alone A sub. i don't plan on entering any comps either, but i do spend about 2.5hrs in my car M-F for my commute, so having a decent system is a must. i don't want to ditch the spare tire for a stealth system, so i will quit _____in and deal with it.

How many holes did you have to drill to mount it? Looks good to me.

I dig it. Good use of space if you can't give up cargo area for bass (I can't). It may not pack quite the punch as other systems, but I bet you'll be happy with it.

Please explain why you feel it would cause "sound cancellation", how it would do so, and why an alternate orientation wouldn't.

I ask because I strongly disagree and what you said doesn't make sense, as stated.
