View Full Version : Floormats really under warranty? RussianTC 12-28-2004, 11:11 PM Had my car little over two months and 2000 miles and my $145 super rugs are already wearing thin under the clutch......anyone else? Really under warranty? Yes, I had mine replaced too. its_ikon 12-28-2004, 11:29 PM yes they are covered. it has been talked about in the maintence and car care forum TheScionicMan 12-28-2004, 11:39 PM It's between the bumpers, right? - 3/36 Bumper to Bumper  SpeedlinebB 12-28-2004, 11:42 PM I did not know that. I have to check that out. TCAV8R 12-29-2004, 03:18 AM Any links to the thread in the maintenance section? TIA rogcjms 12-29-2004, 04:33 AM http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=24600&highlight= there ya go. I started the thread and got my floomats replaced with no problem. they were shocked at toyota when i showed them the wear. its covered under the 3yr/36,000mi warranty. grnxb 12-29-2004, 10:40 PM its funny, everytime I mention how the floormats are covered, someone tells me that it is considered normal wear and tear(you know from our shoes) therefore it would not be covered. Regardless, I'm looking forward to replacing my floormats at least 4-5 times in the next 2.6 years/29K mi...whichever comes first meemomark 12-29-2004, 11:36 PM wow, mine is already weraing thin as well...looks like ill be making that swap too... TCAV8R 12-30-2004, 06:10 AM This is awesome. Wish I had known that for my truck floormats. They wore thin too. I just got my car so it may be a while. Knowing this, I will not baby them as I was trying to do. Probably replace them every once in a while too. IMO they should only replace the cloth portion since it is what will wear, not the rubber underneath. Now, how do we wear out the mat in the hatch? I might want a new one before the warranty is up. But that is a few years down the road. cmdxb 12-30-2004, 12:24 PM i will be replacing mine very shortly..i will also be buying a racing kick plate to prevent future wear.... cmdxb 12-30-2004, 12:25 PM i will be replacing mine very shortly..i will also be buying a racing kick plate to prevent future wear.... matt_a 12-30-2004, 01:05 PM Does anyone know if they only cover them if you got them with the car? I didn't get the carpeted Scion mats yet, because I knew I'd be wanting rubber, all-weather mats for winter. I was planning on buying the carpeted Scion mats in the spring. If I get them through the dealer, do you think they will warranty them against early wear? TCAV8R 12-30-2004, 01:10 PM You do know that the floormats have a carpet piece which comes off to reveal a rubber mat underneath. :) matt_a 12-30-2004, 01:34 PM You do know that the floormats have a carpet piece which comes off to reveal a rubber mat underneath. :)I did read something about that. That's pretty cool, but Wal-Mart sells these really heavy-duty rubber mats with big, deep groves that trap and hold water and mud. They're cheap, and the black ones look great in my xA. I figured I'd save the expensive Scion mats for summer use. Munch 12-30-2004, 01:35 PM You do know that the floormats have a carpet piece which comes off to reveal a rubber mat underneath. :) Not for the Xa and Xb. That's only true for the Tc :( litobirdy 12-30-2004, 02:04 PM I do have the official floor mats.. but i bought them off ebay.. can i get them replaced???? VIP_tC 01-06-2005, 04:15 AM bump - anybody know if you have to have purchased the mats with the car for them to be under warranty? hotbox05 01-06-2005, 05:33 AM i would assume so. you could easily try i'm pretty sure they wouldnt go receipt searching. but you better majke damn sure they really are oem and not knockoffs. i wonder what the stealerships consider normal wear and tear versus a crappy quicker than should be wearing piece? Mark44 01-06-2005, 01:15 PM I also use those wal-mart mats, I have them over the stock mats they work great. I get in and out of the car with a wet suit on and wet shoe's and they hold all the water that comes out of my shoe's. (Freestyle Jet Ski) Mark44 pkoule 03-02-2005, 03:47 AM So, with 4000 miles after 3 months, the drivers floormat has a hole under the clutch pedal. Dealer says its because I wore boots while I was driving and is 'wear & tear'. What kind of idiocy is this? Does Scion Corp know what kind of abuse the dealers are doling out? IsItSnowing 03-03-2005, 02:34 AM well it is a cheap car with cheap mats. but bumper to bumper means bumper to bumper. If you get right down to it almost anything is a wear item.. jermcruz 03-03-2005, 07:52 PM floormats get messed up after 2k-4k miles huh? that might be an incentive to get oil changes at the dealership. mattxb 03-03-2005, 09:17 PM Quick story: When purchasing my xB, I didn't want the floor mats. Way to expensive. My sales guys said well they are included in the sticker bla bla bla :blah: I said listen I want to buy the box today and I don't want the mats. He finally agreed. Went to pick up the box the next day and guess what they forgot to take out...........sweet! xnevergiveinx 03-04-2005, 02:37 AM i didn't purchase my floormats with the car, i got them from sparkstoyota.com, i haven't seen any wear on them yet, i have about 1100 miles on my car. they are official, they came in a toyota box. i hope i can have them covered under warranty when they wear out, who would i complain to? service department or the lady who sold me the car? |
