Default Caught speeding in CA help please

okay so i was speeding, i know its bad but it was 4:30 in the morning and no one was in the streets. its still bad i know.

okay so it was a empty streets with no cars at all. so i decided to step on the gas. the street is labeled 35 and i was clocked at 63. the cop pulled me over and gave me a ticket.

i got a letter to show up in court, they did not tell me how much to pay. i was wondering if anyone knows how much the ticket might be?

thankyou

Well...... When I was stopped for doing 86 in a 65 about 2yrs ago in NY state it was terrible. If I got two more I would have lost my license sine driving over 20mph over the limit is considered reckless driving. I had to pay a $330 fine and that was after my Mom (bless her!) called and talked them down from $500 I think.

But this was in NY State...... I am sure it's not 100% the same but it's not gonna be good.

Here is some of the issues you are probably going to have to deal with
1-age
2-probably residential with that speed limit (could end up as a reckless driving)
3-sporty car ( you do have a tC right?)
4-the time could make it better or worse (dark and visibility versus most likely not many people out)
5-tell the truth-if your try to lie or give out too much info they will not help you at all.
6-if this is not your first ticket it will establish a pattern

When you get there, be respectful, be clean shaven, no piercings showing, dress nice (not all pimp like though)-don't bag on the officer-it will show disrespect

I hope it all works out-and be greatful he didn't haul you in for that amount of speed over the limit

your ticket is going to be close to $360-$400 i got a ticket going 59 in a 35 and it came out to $365..it can be a lot more depending on the judge..take traffic school so it dosnt go on your record.

your looking at upwards of 500.

i just got one for 68 in a 45. and it was 380 for bail

your best bet is going to court. at the very least your fine will be reduced if you please guilty. the judge will tell you the fine and how much he can reduce it to if you please guilty. however if you please not guilty theres a chance the cop might not show and you might not pay anythign/get any point. especially since its during the day. some cops dont really like changing their shifts just so they can goto court. other times they cant.

ask for traffic school and be done with it. is this your first ticket? you can always say you learned your lesson and apologize, but if this is not your first than who knows what will happen and you would probably not qualify for traffic school

why dont you just get a lawyer? when possible fine is that high it may be better for just pay $80 to the lawyer who will get your charges down

dude it's gonna be like $300-350 (around that amount), just pay it off and ask for traffic school instead of dealing with lawyers and going back and forth to court. hopefully after this you learned your lesson because i sure did after i got my first and only speeding ticket so far i'll have to agree with greybox

i got a ticket for 76 in a 50
you are most likely not eligible for traffic school unless the judge is a nice guy (mine was)

so hopefully you get traffic school

if this is your first offence they will most likely penalize you to the max amount cause of the speed which is $423

It's been said. Assuming you don't get reckless driving and/or exhibition of speed on top of your straight up speeding ticket it'll cost a few hundred bucks.

Show up for traffic court and hope the cop doesn't show up. If he doesn't thank you're lucky stars. If he does, just plead guilty ask for a reduced penalty (first time, learned my lesson, never again, etc) and take traffic school.

You are eligible for traffic school every 18 months, so just don't eff up in the next year in half after you'll be OK in terms of insurance.
