amp and sub questions, need help
I am looking to upgrade my Tc sytsem with a 4 channel amp and 10"sub. I want to go cheap but have it sound pretty good. I was lookin at a Sony Explode 500-600watt 4 chnl amp and a Alpine SWE-1041 sub. I want to keep the stock HU and speakers for right now, but will the amp put out to much power for the fronts speakers to handle? If the speakers can handle the extra power how do you think this system will sound? Also is this amp any good .

Stay away from the new Sony, the older ES line from the 90s was an EXCELLENT product. The new stuff is flea market.
More likely than not the new sub will drown out the front speakers if you get a quality setup.
Remember you get what you pay for. Sure you'd like big power, but I'd rather get more quality and less power.
Tell us your budget and we could recommend a few things.

you'll notice the more out of your system if you were to swap the head unit out, and throw in an amp and box... as oppossed to amping the stock speakers with the stock radio...
that ebay amp can be had for cheap at walmart... it weighs in at like 5 lbs or something... while a similar one that best buy or small shops weighs almost twice as much...
the one on crutchfield is physically huge... its not a bad amp, but i think i would get something else if i were in that price range...

I was also interested in this amp http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?...ore=&catid=303
I am sure this amp is better made and will sound better. I would like to keep the costs to a minimum but will probably upgrade the hu and speakers later on. What do you think.
