i've had both, so here's what i think. FYI, i have an Alphawerks header.

if you want a deeper tone, go with HKS. The HKS setup does NOT eliminate the 2nd cat found on the mid-pipe which helps cut the rasp.

on the other hand, the Skunk2 setup will replace the stock midpipe thus removing the 2nd cat. this makes the car loud and raspy with an aftermarket header. if you go this route, i highly recommend either removing the header, welding an AR25 resonator onto the Skunk2 midpipe, or using the Skunk2 silencer.

i'd imagine both setups would have almost no rasp if you keep the stock header. FYI, the Skunk2 will provide a little bit more power (probably unnoticeable) since it eliminates the 2nd cat.

it all really comes down to this

catback>axleback

enough said, u would have to buy extra parts to even make that HKS a catback which is pointless when Skunk2 is a catback and a very good one at thta, Not to know on HKS either cause thats a great axleback but might as well get the whole exhaust system while ur at it with skunk2

really depends on what you want. I got myself an HKS. I absolutely love the sound. Has a nice deep growl. Loud when you romp on it. But quite on the highway. However if you want a full exhaust get yourself the skunk2. I actually didn't like the crooked look at first but I had an opportunity to get a pretty new HKS for 270 so i figured why not. It kinda grew on me. I absolutely love it now.

I've been rocking my HKS for about 2 years, and still love it. Volume is perfect, sounds great.
