Default My job Sucks

Well this snow sucks A$$

well some may not know i am a truck driver ( Semi) and well today just took the cake my day starts off at 4am and today i am driving a box truck (sweet) Automatic LOL first stop Brian calls me to see if i am at work and i tell him heck yeah, we are like the post office (snow sleet rain and what other weather types) we are out there ( which sucks) so anyways first stop is in renton on top of this giant hill so thank god i was able to get up it and then it was off to tukwilla for the second stop and then all hell breaks loose it took me 3 hours to get from tukwilla to north gate (lake city) area. The weather went from light snow to hail, snow and ice right before boeing field. So finally get to my stop in lake city going like 15-25 all day long well oh yeah second to last stop is back in tukwilla where the hill to get back to I-5 was nothing but ice. oh joy well it was around 5:30-6pm when i finally got onto I-5 and well i got home in my drive way at 11pm and now i have to show up late tomorrow and go back to seattle

like i said i hate my job

but it pays well (sorta)

time to eat dinner and go to bed.

"Yay! I get to work now!"

You aren't alone trust me lol

Not many in the world like to go to work, until they think what it would be like to not have the work.

Lots of people out there NEED work and right now cant find it. We all dislike work, but please be thankful for it

Brad,
That really sucks, I'm just very thankful that MY job doesn't depend on me being on the road all day. I chose to stay home yesterday, and watched the day unfold on TV. Take care, and be careful.

the first two years i drove a truck i went from portland to salt lake every week, and every other week i would swing up to jackson hole wyoming.in this type of weather sucks a$$ big time.but then there are the days you see the most awsome sunrises and all that stuff.then there are all the bs rules and regs.me myself dont think anybody should be able to be on the clock for 15 hours and then 10 hours later be back at work...bs!

My boss is bringing the company (state) Jeep Cherokee into town for two of us to get back and forth to work this weekend so that they aren't short handed. No one wants to drive in this stuff, but the alternative is driving to the unenjoyment office.
The freeways were clear down here last night/this morning when I got off work (0230), but the roads in town were glazed over with ice, drive careful everyone.

well sorry to all that dont have jobs this post had nothing to do with that is was just me venting about work and how long it took me yesterday to get home and for today well i worked 8:30am till 7pm and oh yeah got to my 3rd stop and noticed i had a flat well since it has 4 tires in the back i thought oh well just needs air well i was wrong went to ballard where there was a les schwab and well come to find out back passager inner tire was toasted and i would have to wait 6 hours or so for them to even touch the tire ( there were backed up with other customers) so the guy said i could keep going on the one but didnt think i would make it home, well a went on my merry way and got all the way to my second to last stop in which i decided heck i am not going to try to climb up and down this hill to go to the last stop and plus i only have three good tires in the back so i said hell with it and jumped on the highway and went home thank god i finally am off for the weekend now i just got to tell the boss why i didnt drop off the last load lol

but anyways like i said sorry about me venting that it got a few of you telling me about not having jobs and such if you want you can have mine. LOL

I Feel for ya guy... am in Gillette,Wyo. (flying fish hook) got an oversize on (12' wide, 14'6" high but only 10,000 lbs) tarped of course, and bungies just a flying everywhere, temp is -7 with wind chill of -31 , and it's only gonna get worse, tomorrow (sat) is supposed to really get cold, and I still have to re-tarp this mess in the morning.. and then hope to hell that the roads don't require chains all the way to Anacortes.. otherwise will be stuck somewhere over Christmas..but it is a job that has to be done

Merry Christmas to all.

Oh, there are some people who wake up and love to go to work...sadly most of that environment is gone. Back in the dotcom days I worked for AtomFilms.com (until they moved to San Fran and then got bought by MTV). WOW...was that a wonderful place to work. I used to go in and not want to come home. I worked 80+ hour weeks by choice. But then again everything was provided...food, drinks, entertainment, sleeping quarters, movie theatre (my second office...yay!), showers, bar across street, and buddies from work. Why leave.?

But we'll never see those days again (aside from Google...hehe) because companies realize how much it is to keep running a business that way. Four months before we merged with Macromedia/Shockwave we stopped paying all our bills just so that we could show more on our books. Gotta love getting collections calls from vendors

That is work that I truly miss!!! Our 10 year anniversary is coming up this March and I can't wait because most of us who are still in town are getting together to celebrate and that environment created a bond between us which will never go away!

So while all my other jobs have always been the typical "daily grind" there are people out there who fall into jobs which are their passion and give them a purpose to their days.
