Your car has a paint code. Check the owner's manual for the location of the label on your car. Then order it from your Scion dealer using that paint code.

I have a Silver Streak Mica xA, and I bought the tube of touch-up from the dealership parts department even before I needed it. Within a week of driving my new car, I had a small paint chip on the hood. Thinking it would be good to touch it up so it wouldn't expand and flake, I used the touch-up on it. I followed directions, like shaking the tube, and applied a little bit to the spot using the tube brush. Now I have a spot that doesn't blend into the original paint.

It's the right paint, according to the parts department. So it's looking like touch-up just doesn't match original even if it's the same color. My silver touch-up is lighter in color than than my week-old stock paint.

Anyone have ideas about how to fix this problem for the next inevitable touch-up experience?

I believe Meguires or Mothers (the auto care companies) make a touch up kit. Its some kit that you apply the pain and it has a tool to remove all excess and make it look as good as possible.

The reason it did this was due to no clear coat on it and probably no base under it. Its pretty hard to match the original color with touch up.

try going to a body shop, give them your paint code and have them mix up a little bottle. the place by me charged me 8$ for this and it was a fairly good size bottle.

its always good to test it on a spot of car you wont see first. that way you will be able to tell if it blends or not.
