Im looking for a nice slim fan to put in .. i have stock radiator and stock fans and im scared im going to overheat it so anyone got any advice on which direction to look?

 

instead of doing that... upgrade to a mishimoto with a gates 170 thermostat.. your car will run SO MUCH COOLER!

its only 300 man.. the slim fan is maybe 30$ or more.. but the benefit you get from the mishimoto is 400x as efficient!

Yeah just grab a Mishimoto rad from our vendors. Carcandy.com has them in stock and ready to ship both with or without fans. Your choice.

I’m running a pair of 10” Mishimoto fans on my stock radiator and it keeps my engine nice and cool. I actually need to block off some of the radiator because when the temp is around 0 like it is now, it takes a while for my car to warm up. The Mishimotos work great.

 

did u replace the stock fans with those? or did u add them on the other side of the radiator?

 

i know the stock evo X fans are better than some aftermarket

would that be the case with out fans? with thermostat and new rad (2 core) i'm assuming we'd run a few degrees cooler but would the fans really help that much?

 

an extra fan would help theres no doubt in my mind. even still running stock radiator and fans if u add another on the opposite side it will help out.

I replaced the stock fans. Part of the reason it is taking my car so long to cool up is because when I removed the fans and shroud, it allows more airflow to pass over the radiator fins while driving making it cooler. The fans don't do much at highway speeds, but the unrestricted airflow really cools the car.

 

so if i just replace the fans with some aftermarket ones i should be straight? i was hearing that the mishi fans were actually weaker than the stock ones?

 

^^thats what i heard too but only in reference to the evoX, not sure of the tc ones.

 

just buy some aftermarket fans, doesnt matter what kind honestly..

 

if you want fans, get permacool! way more cfm the mishimoto but still draws less amp.. but yeah get the rad first.. i can get you a link of you want.. i ran two 12" fans in front and one on at the back.. too cool wont be a concern for you since you're in FL.. i have a 170 termostat too and a 160 deg F termostat relay for the front fans
