My buddy got me a new ipod for my car because my old crappy ipod that I had in there was on it's last legs.
He got me a new nano 4th gen.

When I hooked it up to my Avic D-3 with CD-i200 cable that I have that worked fine with my old ipod, now the new nano won't charge. It plays the audio fine, but I want it to charge the ipod too.

Is there a new cable that I need to get that will charge this newer Ipod?

 

my new itouch doesnt charge either i have no idea why tho

 

same here........must be something to do with the plug not being the same is all I can think......pain in the butt.

 

Apple discontinued Firewire support for the new iPods and iPhones... causing the charging issue due to the changes in the docking.

iphone 3g and now the gen 4 nano. I really like apple but this is just rediculious!

 

schoshe makes it i think.. seen it in a mobile audio mag. I think it comes out in January, its a little adapter that makes it possible to charge the iphone, itouch, and new nanos

Yes. The AVIC D-3 uses the CD-i200 cable which doesnt seem to be compatible with this adapter.
