So driving home today this guy in a prizm was right on my ___, i dont think he could get much closer. than he got in other lane and tried to go past me but that didnt work so he got behind me again and rode my ___. it was wet roads, cold, and it was coolign down. so i want in any hurry to be going the 45mph speed limit, especially with all the traffic and stop lights on the road.

so eventually i got ____ed and tapped the breaks a bit, i think traffic was slowing down up front also anyway. and boom he hit me while trying to change lanes. we pulled over and he started yelling at me cuz i hit my brakes. even though he was tailgating. then my dad stopped too because he was a few cars behind and saw it. and even said that guy rode my ___.

i was willing to just swap insurance info with him and leave, so we wouldnt have to wait or get cops involved, but he wanted them there. so he ended up gettign a ticket for following too close.

i put the pictures up in the xb section on the soite. i guess now its time to shop for a body kit. i was looking at getting the vizage lip kit. but maybe i should look for a nice rear bumper instead

i had all the right to slow down, i didnt do a brake check, i tapped the brakes to start slowing down, since another light was up ahead and traffic. brake checking is holding it down

i always understood brake checking as quickly hitting the brakes then speeding up then when he gets close again repeat the brake, then speeding up. if thats not how i've been doing it wrong :lol:

Either way the other guy is at fault, even if Toast3r Decided to Stop in the middle of the road for no reason if the other guy hit him it's the other guys fault.

yes, the reason i wasnt going 45 or close to the car in front of me was because road conditions werent great, but the guy behind me thought it was ok, and decided to ride up so close to me i couldnt see his headlights or anything.

if you cant see the headlights of the guy behind you he is too close, or if you cant see the person in front of yous license plate your too close. need to always be prepared for person in front of you to slam their brakes in case something happens

Once upon a time (in college) a buddy of mine had a old car with an even older trailer hitch mounted bike rack. One day he's driving along the express way and some idiot in a big 4WD pick up truck kept tailgating him. Since traffic was heavy he couldn't get out of the way, he had to stay in his lane while the truck continued to tailgate. Someone up ahead had to show down quick and so did my buddy. Needless to say, the idiot in the truck ran into the back of his car.

Funny thing is, the forks from the bike rack (that are always sticking out) went straight through the radiator of the truck!!
The old bike rack got bent to hell but the trucker f@#ker ruined his radiator!

When the cops got there they told the pick-up truck driver it was his fault and that he owed my buddy a new bike rack. They also gave him a ticket for following too close. His truck had to be towed away.

i dunno, i called the insurance company of the guys lastnight, they gave me a claim# and said i would get a call monday or tuesday.

can any autobody place get the parts though? or does it all have to be done through a toyota/scion dealership?

i took it to get an estimate today, its gonna be around 1500$ to fix. they are replacing my TYC lights too, and they only come in pairs. i asked if i could keep the parts replaced and they said sure.

so maybe ill try playing with fiberglass and making a weird bumper with the broke one.

yes but theres much more behind that 1500$ estimate than a new bumper and rear lip.

it needs frame work to a spot under the tailight behind the bumper. reinforcing the bumper.

the oem bumper cover is only 134$, left rear lip is 97$, the tailights are 240$

im going to just have oem stuff replaced. i have the money to get a body kit repainted and put on instead for the rear. but i plan on buying a 2000 dodge neon this month and would like to pay it all in cash and not use my creditcards or loan.

it needed the rear bumper repainted anyway. something scraped the side once, and friends sister parked into the back of it once and took a chip of paint off. so i had to put a sticker over it. i will also have a spare set of slightly scratched TYC lights now

my front lip is in bad shape, its got scrapes all over underside and scratches on the front, its fixed with touch up paint, but its fairly beat up from driveways

hey I got some pics of when I caused 5G's worth of damage on my photo bucket....not much to look at though...all you can really see is how the wheel is pushed back and a scrape on the front lip and a chip of side skirt...
